Scottish Law - It Has a Problem

So John Wilson got away with it because they couldn't prove he called Lennon a ''fenian bastard''. The head of Hearts security 'heard' him say it. But still not guilty.

Obviously he still should have got done for assault etc................

But, at a time when the Scottish Government are trying to push new anti-sectarian laws, this has to be a verdict they don't need?

Innocent until proven guilty. And the Jury wouldn't even take the word of the head of security.

The first old firm game on the 18th will be interesting.

I think it will mate, I've already heard 2 seperate guys saying that because this guy got away with it, that they are going to have a go at Lennon.

the bit where scots law now says if you are not a catholic and you don't support celtic then you're breaking the law.

the guy was charged with "assault and breach of the peace, both of which were aggravated by religious prejudice."
because they are desperate up there to charge somebody with hating celtic, they are now going to add that prejudice bit to everything.

as it was, that was what got the guy off.
even though he admitted trying to attack lennon, they couldn't prove that it had anything to do with religious prejudice.
no matter how many bigoted celtic fans think that everything in life is done out of religious hatred.
