Another match shunted from Saturday, to Sunday 02/08/2015, KO 15:00 hours.

Rangers FC - Peterhead Game Moved

For once this is not for TV, but to avoid clashing with Celtic's home league match.

Scottish League Cup Round 1, Sunday 02/08/2015 : Rangers 3-0 Peterhead

Rangers comfortably through to the second round, although I did not see much of the second half, including the goals, as the stream was off and on, mainly off; the website match report is a bit like War and Peace !

    Match Report : Rangers 3 Peterhead 0

    Attendance : 25,608

Manager's verdict : Rangers FC - Boss Wants More Clinical Gers

As good as Rangers' play is now ... and it is good, on the deck and no hoofing, I nevertheless think we are 'going Arsenal', with maybe one pass too many in the build-ups.

Another impressive display today. Especially from Peterhead's keeper who was outstanding.

Barry McKay and Dean Shiels were teeerif. Our new right back continues to impress.

    Could have been 10-0 tbh.

    Happy days.

Shots 27 On target 13  That's what we should have been doing these past three years. The right back is highly impressive. I agree too that McKay was excellent today. Wallace is getting back to his best. It will be interesting to see how we do against St Mirren on Friday,

    HT 0-3

Another great start for Rangers as Clark scores after four minutes, Halliday gets the second with a dig from just outside the box wuth Waghorn adding the third forty seconds later.

More excellent football being played and most of it coming through Zelalem and Oduwa. The Arsenal kid looks a class act.Waggy is having a bit of a Regi on the right wing. Miss controlled a few balls. Still scored a good goal though and has put one or two very decent crosses in.

    FT 0-5

Game died a death in the second half. Rangers looked like they were treating it as a practice match and some of the passing was very sloppy. Wee Barry came on and the tempo was raised a wee bit. Halliday very unlucky with a terrific strike that came back of the bar.

Shiels scored the fourth and Tavernier made it five with the goal of the game.

Pretty good stuff all in all. Don't think magic Mark will be happy with the second half performance though. The full backs continue to impress. Both were terrific.

Five nil in the end. The game died a death for a bit of the second half. Barrie McKay came on in the second half and had some lovely touches. I'm really, really impressed with him this season. How many goals is Tavernier going to score this season?

Hope he scores some more as good as that one. His control of the ball at pace was fantastic
