Prediction League Season 2022-23

Here we are then: Exeter are our red-hot striped favourites for a win and Charlton v Barnsley is our collective "haven't got a clue".


Three of us have the strength of conviction to play a joker on Exeter but Port Vale to beat Peterborough has support too.

 

So big news... I'm top scorer although that's somewhat blighted by having my joker on Port Vale to beat Peterborough. Still....



Joe's goal time was accurate to within 2 minutes.

Musty inches in front of Lyndhurst but otherwise no change in league positions.



There's a full card on Saturday afternoon, two jokers please. Derby play Bolton in a six-pointer.

Then there's a quick turnaround to 10 games on Tuesday night. Ipswich, Derby, Bolton, Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday all play but Argyle have a night off as a game-in-hand unwinds.

I was taken by Lyndhurst's prediction of a goal rush across League 1, so I knocked together a little table. This only includes the games that will take place: i.e. those that haven't been postponed.



A range from 2.0 goals per game to 3.2. I'm not sure if that means anything but we'll see as time goes on.

No jokers on postponed games (yet) but please keep your eyes open. If you do change your choices, please drop a line at this end of the thread so I don't miss it. Argyle and Sheffield Wednesday are the most popular choices by a long way.



The joker choices come through into the result predictions but both games are 8-0-0, so even those not putting jokers on those two games expect home wins for both.



Barnsley is another 8-0-0 "certainty" and Sensible and I have risked jokers on that game. Oxford v Ipswich seems to be the one we're least sure of collectively. I'd agree with that: instinctively you think "Ipswich to win" but in fact they've gained just 2 points from their last 3 away games.
