For all you Muse fans out there (I'm not one btw), on MTVRocks just a moment ago, whilst they were playing a Muse song it came up with what Matt Bellamy said will be in the new album sound wise and well, it's going to contain Dubstep.
That was my first reaction! It'll end up like this abomination http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK8YSsjIaDs
I was gonna say, sounds like they're doing a Korn! However it turns out it'll be hilarious seeing the confused masses of Muse fans wondering whether they have to like it just because it's Muse
That I would like to see! It's like the stereotypical Radiohead fan and TKOL. The ones who have a brain enjoy it for what it is, the one's who are stereotypical claim to love it but loathe it
Muse are a terrible, terrible band. Doesn't surprise me that they're injecting their next album with new forms of garbage.
My only problem is, the way people look at them as if they're really original, when they're just not.
Certainly isn't my only problem with them, but I definitely agree with this. It's painful to see people regarding them as having a unique and original creative output.
When I hear them around, it just occurs to me how many artists they actually rip off. Ok, it's hard to make an original sound these days because the majority has already been done, but the way people go on about them is ridiculous.
Yeah their theft is unrivalled really, it's woven into almost every measure of their work. Don't get me started on their miserable copy & paste interpretations of Rachmaninoff and Chopin that they have slapped new titles onto.
That pissed me off on their most recent album, the first song I listened to had the Chopin Nocturne Op.9 No.2 clip, I didn't bother listening after that. I couldn't even name the song it was on, but it's now massively associated with Muse.
Yep, disgraceful. My younger cousin declared 'Muse!' when he heard me listening to my Rubinstein plays the Nocturnes vinyl; you should have heard the venom I was spitting for the following few minutes.
