If he wants out let him go, but he is a full England international now, so you want him you pay the going rate. If Spurs are interested do we take Townsend for him.

**** Shelvey. Not good enough for our brand of football. As Trunds says, maximise his sale as he's an English international squad regular now and bring back Joe Allen.

    This is great news imo.

Is he that good? Can't string an accurate pass five yards in front of him.

I think he is , misused by the club imo
The proof will lie with the next team , but he did get a call up , speaks volumes to me .

Good shout Valley, but Spurs won't want the donkey, I'd like the money to go to a serious striker............<ok>

Or we take both Townsend and Davies for him.

I'll take straight cash unless they want to trade for one of their strikers .

How? He's had plenty of chances but just prances around the pitch. He does not suit our style of football. He'd be better off at a Tony Pulis style club.

I'd rather have a 40 year old Leon in the side before him.

Should have played farther forward imo , never really was .
Was never enough room up front to fit him in and I think it bothered him .
But like I say , we'll see how good he is in the future .
No hard feeling from me with Shelvey , I liked him but an unhappy player isn't going to give you as much as a happy one .

It's been a while since I saw shelvey play. IMO he was used as a box-to-box midfielder, which did never suit him well. I consider him being an attacker/attacking midfielder, he did best (as I remember it) in attacking situations, and was worst when having to defend, or with defending duties...

Not at the expense of Gylfi. Gylfi is different class.

Problem for Shelvey is we took him as a part payment for money owed with Joe Alen, I don't think we thought through that Siggy was always the better player........<ok>

The problem with Shelvey is he had a knock down drag out with Jenkins , asked for a transfer and looks like he'll get it.
Somehow , most things that are going wrong , Jenkins got his big nose in the middle of it.
Jenkins big problem is every time he opens his mouth , he says something ...and usually about things that have nothing to do with his " Job Description "

His relationship with the other players must have broken down. He's probably got a chance to train with one of the more renowned coaches in world football and appears to be turning down the chance.

If I was him I'd give it another 6 months and see what happens...unless things are particularly bad behind the scenes. He's still a young lad after all!
