    I think VVD will keep well away from the media. If he has learnt one life lesson, it is that.

    According to a Loserpool fan needling Sir Matty, VVD looked miserable yesterday. Yes, in one photograph which was taken just as he was preparing to go on the pitch, he looked serious and focused so because he wasn't grinning ear-to-ear, he's miserable. They're so sadly desperate. Or is that desperately sad...?

    I was disappointed he didn't really come over to the fans yesterday to be honest.

    He should have came over, took his bit of stick and that would have began the healing process but think those who did boo/abuse him will remember.

    As for captain I dont think it's all that important really. Good teams should have 3/4 leaders on the pitch anyway.

    Or both. Virgil looked happy to me....may not be his 'dream', but he was back in the squad and playing after months out. At the end he was patting the backs of the team and Palace players...looked relaxed and happy.

    If we intend to keep VVD until next summer then I am pleased to see him reintergrated however if he is going in January then I see no good reason to get him match fit ready for a move to Liverpool so leave him on the bench or left out

    I'm not expecting a decent season out of him. I'm expecting two. Then he'll be halfway through his contract and we can sell. No, I'm not joking. If I'd been in charge that would be what I would have told him. He didn't sign a two year contract or a three year one. He signed for six and was very happy to take it. Now he pays our commitment back by giving us just half the time for which he signed.
