should we still be looking at signing a left back?

I know you've seen the title but hear me out, if we sign a quality LB. The likes of van Aanholt or if pieters became available again would we not then have a quality solid back four? With Saylor and Colo in the middle and santon on the right we would be able to push up alot more with Tiote sitting in front of the cb acting like a third cb, just a thought.

Also while I'm here if we sign another ST where is Ben Arfa going to fit in?

 

I reckon we should sign a LB of the same ability of elliot - a lower league LB who we can get cheaply. Just as cover - could be an amazing signing

 

I wouldn't say no to Van Aanholt on a loan deal with view to perm!

Van anholt was on twitter saying he is going on loan but dont know where to yet, i'd love him in and santon at rb!

 

Santon got the number 3 shirt so i think we wont be looking for more fullbacks during this window.

 

I'd certainly not say no to another quality LB in january should we sign one.

This window I'm more concerned with getting in a striker and a CB if possible.

Next window: Smith and Perch (at least) out, a DM in, another CB, plus replacements for anyone who leaves...

Definately should still sign a LB preferably a good one, then we would finally have what seems to be a great defence. Still like us to get Pieters as this would give us good cover for CB too. Hope we also get Situ.
Personally i would either play Ben Arfa on the right, or left with Guti switched to his more orthodox right side leaving Best/Ba to partner a new top striker up front.

 

We have one, just for some reason Pardew doesn't rate him (Kadar)

I couldn't get to many games during the championship season due to medical problems and never saw Van Aanholt play as I was stuck with text commentary on games, can anyone enlighten me on how he was?

Doubt Aanholt would want to come if he wasn't going to be first choice at this stage in his career, would definitely welcome him as the backup though.

In an ideal world we would have both Pieters and Santon and play:

Santon Taylor Colo Pieters

But wouldn't expect that in a million years from our board.

 

I can only give you one good reason to why Aanholt wouldn't start and that is Raylor scoring two in two games. Surely if Aanholt impresses in training then he'd be there in the squad.

And I think Elliott will get the No.12 shirt

 

best scenario for me tomorrow would be to sign a FWD nice and early and get a surprise signing late on
