Voted for Chester, I think this kids got class and one day WILL make club captain. Koren's been good, Fryatt looking the part, once Mclean gets on the score sheet and with his superb work rate he'll also be class. Stewart is work in progress with age and confience that Nige will install he could be an English Ronaldo. In Nige we trust, we are watching a legacy being established.
No , sorry , got to blame the previous regime for signing Bullard and giving him a ridiculous contract , AP has to sort out the mess ÃÆââ¬Å¡Ãâã1.7 million loan fee and 30k a week for Sonko ? I had to type that again , that is genuinely shocking
I'm liking all of them but went with Rosenior purely because we have missed someone decent in this area for a few years now. I know he's a tiger but I prefer McShane to ply his trade in the reserves.
I've went for James Chester. He already looks quality and can only get better with age and experience. What a bargain! I definitely like our transfer policy under the new regime, we've spent so many years buying players who we've never really recouped money on (bar a few exceptions such as Turner, even then he went for below his market value).
Gone for Rosenior given our need for a good right back, Koren comes a close second, but as with other posters Gerrard is the one that stands out and to get him signed on a permanent will bring in a great centre back and a good leader, captain for 2011/12 season me thinks.
I agree but he'll have to watch himself.Did anyone else see him doing his impersonation of the linesman in the first half on Tuesday night ? In all honesty he should have been booked ,at least. You could say pretending to wave an imaginary flag while stumbling about with your eyes shut ala a blind person could be a sending off offence. When the linesman said something to him he looked around , pointed to himself and you could see him saying, "Who me ?" The nearest player to him was Chester and he as at least 25 yards away and wasn't even looking at the lino.Big Tone then proceeded to tell said linesman to " **** off " at least three times, obviously not amused at whatever was being said to him. It was funny to watch but on another daythere could have been consequences.
Didn't catch that NFU, wish I did though! Nothing beats that time Deano scared the life out that Lino pretending to throw the ball in his face, or when he got booked without being on the pitch for stretching in front of the player trying to take a throw. I miss having deano around his humour was class he sure knew how to entertain the crowd!
Rosenior for me, on a free and solved a major problem position for us. Probably the best right back in the division. Koren was of course a very close second, just goes missing in the odd game, hopefully he will get a chance in the middle with Harper out and show how brilliant he is.
In the context of what we've seen in the new look team, how do you single anyone out? They're all playing for each other, as a team.
Gerrard is our best signing, don't care if he's on loan. Last season our biggest problem was a soft defence, with defenders poor at defending (Gardner, McShane, etc.), with Gerrard we have a proper defender which we haven't seen since Turner.
Aaron McLean has done well for us so far since joining. Alright he hasn't scored but his work-rate is great, his ability in the air is good, strength good, holding up the ball good. He'll get his goal sometime or later and he won't stop scoring. Look at Simpson when he bagged his first against Bristol City, of course until the new strikers came in he hasn't had a chance. So far for me, Aaron McLean. Do this again at the end of the season and see if I stick with him.
