There doesn't seem to be that much in it. https://www.austadiums.com/sport/rugby-union/results https://www.austadiums.com/sport/comp/nrl/results
He is right though, union crowds went down dramatically following poor results at international level and also at club level against teams from NZ. Doesn't alter the fact that far more people play and watch unionmworldide as shown by the fact that there is no shortage of countries wanting to stage the union world cup whilst they struggle to find one to host the RL one and have to make up teams to have enough to stage the RL one. RL players could teach footballers about how to act and how to accept referee's decisions but it doesn't alter the fact it is a minor sport with Hull one of the few places that doesn't regard it as such.

Sure but Rugby League is huge here, so in a conversation of the popularity of the two sports, especially one where they are one of the better Union and League sides in the world, I think it's pretty relevant.
Much in what? Crowd numbers? I said that Union is dead outside of Australian tests, not including Australian tests.
Gaelic football is huge in Ireland, but Aussie Rules is huge in Australia.Gridiron is huge in the USA. But none of them is as big as rugby union or Rugby league worldwide.
So is saying league is bigger than union in Australia when discussing the popularity of the sports worldwide. The RL is more popular in Australia than Association Football. What does that prove?
It was to provide context of how far down the list Union has fallen in Australia. I also wasn't the first to bring RL into the discussion.
As the conversation was about the RL World Cup on a thread headed with the Chairman of FC RL was being discussed right from the start.
It sounds like Adam may be putting the plans for a new stadium on the back burner for now. Hull FC owner and chairman Adam Pearson has expressed concern about the future of the club and the game should they struggle to entice fans back. The Black and Whites welcome an unrestricted crowd back to the MKM Stadium this evening for the first time since Covid restrictions lifted earlier this month. With 5,500 memberships sold, the club had been hoping to sell as many tickets as possible for the clash with Leeds Rhinos and even made tickets available for £5. https://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/sport/rugby-league/adam-pearson-hull-fc-concerned-5718918
Just over 9,000 'piled' into the stadium according to the HDM. Suppose that will be seem as a decent crowd for them. Although they were playing Leeds. Would City be happy with 9,000 if we were at home to leeds united ? I do think this long lay off will effect gates at City too. People have got out of the habit.
Looks as if Adam got a decent turnout for tonight, attendance was 9356 per the HDM, I like to think that we can better that for the opening home game.
