Mr. Ince Senior thinks that Ince junior is worth £25m! (Cheers, no pressure there then dad...) http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22038525 Any thoughts anyone?
£25 million? No. But he's certainly worth a few bob. If we're thinking logically, he should be around £2-£3 million but obviously the purchase of Zaha has pushed things to a new level. If we're thinking that Zaha is fully worth £12-£15million than yeah, Tom Ince is worth £25million because IMO, Ince is better.
Nothing like looking through a father's goggles! His logic is flawed, though: Zaha is a year younger, his ability can't really be judged by weight of goals at this stage as he's more of a mazy runner than striker - and we don't know how much of his £15m fee is not up front but is dependent on appearances, goals, titles, international caps etc. At the end of the day it's the market that decides a player's worth, not the lad's dad. But they might get £10m for him.
I remember when Fulham bought Andy Johnson for 10 million If Ince was say Jamaican, he'd be worth no more than £2.5m, don't see where anyone gets 10 million from.
I expect it'll be a bit less than £10m, which I suggested as a best-case scenario, as he's only got 12 months left on his contract, which pretty much forces Blackpool to cash in this summer. If no one else is serious about him, Liverpool might just get him for £5m. But if Blackpool/his agent can find other suitors it should be more like £7-8m. English players do simply go for more than overseas players - you could discuss the social reasoning behind this all day (or indeed the new Uefa rules), but again it's the market that decides these prices.
25 is ridiculous, but he has a point about him being better than Zaha, and in a team which is not performaing particularly well
I suspect daddy is just saying that to try and get Premier League clubs to offer more for him in the summer than the sum Liverpool offered in January
Why do we never get fees like that for players? Even when we sell our best ones it's never in that region. Who is our most valuable player now - Chessie? Aluko?
I don't see that age makes any difference between Zaha and Ince, Ince is only ten months older, it's fairly irrelevant. I think Ince is way better than Zaha, if someone was daft enough to pay £15m for Zaha, there might be someone daft enough to pay more for Ince.
£25mil? What a ****ing load of crap. He's better than Zaha, but he ain't worth £15mil either. I'd say £8-10mil at most.
If he's basing that on Zaha being worth 15 mill. maybe. Tom Ince is far better than Zaha. But Zaha realistically is worth no more than 5 mill. So Tom could go to Liverpool for 7.5 tops.
