I don't feel sorry for the manger he's clearly not up to the job and in normal circumstances he'd be gone.
Let's just hope that we are not in League 2 by the time the Allams leave at the end of next season.

Slutsky was a gamble that didn't pay off , not sure what his contract is , maybe he actually has one for more than a year
which might explain the reluctance to sack him

 

I don't think this team would do any better under any top manager. Slutsky is a good manager, you don't win honours in the top Russian league or manage the national side by being ****.

He's made some unusual decisions and tactical choices - but what else can you do when you have a dog **** defence and been dealt a bag of **** transfer window.

Finger of blame needs to be pointed squarely at the Allams and our ****ing useless head of recruitment Darnbrough. He has previously been dog **** in two previous roles and seems to be sailing towards a hat trick of inept ****ness.

I don't believe for a single minute these players are Slutsky choices, contrary to what he says.

 

Sorry don't agree .. this team needs coaching properly on the training field .. it needs an organiser .. it needs a direction .. and it needs a manager on the touchline who doesn' strut around like a chicken on heat looking at it' toes .. it needs strong mentality to get into the ribs of these players and keep them in it for the full duration of a game .. it needs someone has who gives them extra training to get their fitness up both physically and mentally . It is not a good squad I agree but there are managers out there through all four divisions that could make a better fist of it.

Lovely bloke that he is Sluts has been found wanting on so many levels, for me he ain' up to the task.

 

Agree with that and to add I'm not sure about pennock as first team coach. An ex non league goalie who's previous job was training youth teams.

It's patently down to a lack ability in our team. He's won umpteen honours in Russia and there's some bloody good teams in that league.

He's been hamstrung by average footballers and piss poor rookies that will never make the grade at their parent clubs, driven by our 'head of recruitment'. You can't make a silk purse out of a pigs ear. Our squad isn't even good enough to warrant the accolade of pigs ear. It is absolutely in the league position where it deserves to be. Because it's just not good enough.

 

We'll agree to disagree then .. I look at the Championship table and the numerous teams above us and see that some of their squads are no better then what we have here. The difference for me at least is the manager has moulded a team out of them and got them organised.

 

One point I have not seen mentioned which for me sums up why Slutsky has to go and that is this squad that is apparently not good enough to do a job has managed to score the second most goals in the championship with a guaranteed 20 a season striker out for the season. Apart from wolves every game has been winnable even wolves we could have nicked a point. Get an organiser in and we can shoot up the table games come thick and fast in this league and every game with Slutsky sends us closer to league 1. Nice guy but shocking coach.

 

It's the defence. They aren't up to the job. The end.

 

Why are their squads no better than ours? Clearly they are better. We have conceded more goals than all but about two teams in this league. We've also scored more than most. It tells you exactly where our deficiencies are and why we are where we are. Our defence is too porous and too ponderous. We don't have pace in the defence to keep a high line and we don't have enough ability to keep a clean sheet.

It's like a defence made up of school football team last picks.
