My post about Slutsky after 16 games in Championship.
I watched all 16 games, thx for Russian streamer, who gave me a links to the broadcast.
    About pre-season and transfer window:
Slutsky came to the club at a time when the whole team was sold out.
All leaders are sold. Only Grosicki and Abel stayed in the club.
In pre-season matches Slutsky had 11-13 players with U-23 Hull players, it's a lot of players for the starting lineup? I think no.
    What about money?
    Hull sold Sam Clucas - 14,67 m., Harry Maguire - 12,33 m, Andrew Robertson - 8,1 m, Edin Jakupovic - 2,07 m,
    Tom Huddlestone 1,98 m., Elmo - 990 k , Curtis Davis -508 k. Income - 40,65 m. + tv translation in EPL per season - Russian press wrote that Hull received a profit of 60-70 m. We take a minimum 60 m. + 40,65 m = 100,65.
    Hull expenditures:
Stewart, Dicko, Toral, Kingsley, Irvine, Mazuch - 17,15 m.
100,65 - 17,15 = 83,5 m - income! But Hull don't have a EPL level players! Is it the fault of Slutsky? no.
About Defence line line - The weakest link in the team.
Who played in defence line last match? Aina - 21 years old, Max Clark - 21 years old, Tomori - 19 years old - they are level of Hull? no, they are level Hull U-23, maybe.
Let's give more time for Slutsky.
He will give the result, trust me!
Our Russia supporters believe in it.

P.S. Sorry for my English, From Russia with love :)

I know, but he's gone along with all that selling, and seemed to think the loans would show up big. I just don't know what he's about to get out of these players. In particular he must be able to get a defence organised, whether they are young or not. I doubt they'll give him much spending in January either. Anyway the owners decide and I think he'll keep here unless he walks, but I don't see any improvement likely. I'm not even sure how much the players are backing him really.

I'm sorry Sergy, but we have fools in charge of our club. They're only aim is to take the money and run.

Leonid has been given a **** of a job.

    Peace and love x

The problem is that we have an amateur running the club. When we had our success, credit has to be given to Steve Bruce who handled the situation with the Allams very diplomatically, both on the pitch and off it, particularly with Assam Allam the father. I think many Hull City fans will realise now what a great job Bruce did under the circumstances.

Once Assems became ill, and his son took over the reins, he stopped listening to Bruce, and thought he knew better, and why Bruce left. The result of which are now coming home to roost.

Unfortunately Slutsky doesn't have the knowledge or ability to handle the off field situation, this is not his fault, different country, different culture.

I hope he can get the team playing better again, but he does seem very down with himself at the moment.

There are moments that explain in the children's and youth football, when you need to take the ball out of the penalty area or moments when you need zone defence, When I played football in youth academy in Chita City our coach told me about this.

Look at this: 0:50 what Aina doing in this episod, where is denence zone?
Look at this: 2:30 again Aina, actions in such moments are explained in children's football academies.

I just ask to support Slutsky and team, and not to think that Giggs, Keane,Big Sam or another coach will come and fix the situation. Peace Bro.

On here there are people moaning and blaming Slutsky, but mainly because of team selections and organisation...and because we moan about everything!
At the games he and the team are still getting support (although it’s always less when you are losing)
Almost everyone knows that the real problems at the club are because of the owners, not because of Leonid. Something is very wrong top to bottom
The players need to take a lot of responsibility, but Slutsky needs to drill them well too and hopefully he can. A big problem is that the squad is so unbalanced he doesn’t have choices.

I hope he does well, because I think he is staying and I don’t think any manager will do well long term here while the owners are still here too

    Peace

Sorry Sergey .. admirable though it may be supporting your countryman I disagree to a certain extent.

The Allams have sold him down the river with their asset stripping and poor recruitment, I fully concur with you here.

However the players brought in are currently performing well below their natural levels. The organisation of the team is none existent. The ideal to play 2 wingers who simply cant or won't defend against solid banks of 3 and 4 midfielders is ridiculous. We are constantly getting over run in midfield which pressurises the already poorly drilled defence.

We are lacking quality for sure due to the Allams incompetence however as I have repeatedly said someone capable of organising and coaching properly would improve our performances immeasurably.

I point to Slutskys behaviour on the touch line during games were he constantly parades up and down looking at his toes instead of interacting with players on the field to ensure they know what they should be doing and bollocking them if they arent getting it right.

I point to the time Hector was sent off against Forest when it was left to Dawson to organise the team while Sluts looked nervously at his toes.

    Nice bloke .. yes
    Sympathy .. yes
Dealt a crap hand .. yes
Doing a good job here .. no
    Organised this team .. no
    Respect of the players ?

I' m afraid Leonid for me has fallen way short of the required level.

I believe that is a very fair view of how it has all panned out.

The only qualifier I would make is that Bruce got it right, more or less, for quite a while; although he did spend quite a bit to do it.

This didn't last and his performances as a manager started to be questioned. His starting formations were strange, round pegs in square holes, strange substitutions, players seemingly ostracised for no good reason; fundamentally, all of the elements of a manager who is struggling. Slutsky has moved into this state very quickly.

He has not been able to spend the same amount of money or have the same amount of time, but those basic flaws are there and there with a self- admitted lack of a solution. What compounds the situation is where we are in the league - a relegation dogfight; we need a manager with confidence in his own abilities and Slutsky is worryingly thin on that front.

But that is the whole point, many of us believe that another coach could turn this around - not necessarily one of the names you mention. Unfortunately we also believe this will not happen, due to the nature and attitude of the owners. We are stuck with each other.

My first advice to Slutsky would be to get an interpreter for interviews and to take his time in phrasing his thoughts - they need to come from his brain, not his heart.

Secondly he needs to get a decent No. 2 in and stand with him in his technical area, or clear off to the stands and let him do the touchline stuff.

Thirdly he needs to totally reassess his defence. Play Tomori at CB with Dawson and Meyler at RB; Clarke is work-in-progress, but at least there appears to be progress.

Do that and then let's see what the true defensive qualities of our midfield is.

Back to basics and bollocks to trying to be clever.

    We collapse when we concede
We don’t have the right mentality
Slutsky admitted he doesn’t have the answers

Question for you Sergey, why hasn't Slutski brought in a trusted assistant? I assume he had assistants at Volgograd, Elista, FC Moscow, Krylia Sovetov, CSKA & the Russian national team? Who does he bounce ideas off?

He didn't actually say that. He said he has lots of questions in his mind, he needs to go away and think, he doesn't have the answers right now, but will. Yet another case of quotes taken out of their fuller context (and partly language issues too).

We all know the real problem is the Allams.

However, fair points made on both sides of the argument (is, or how much is, Slutz to blame). Sergey brings a nice touch of reality with his comments about our defence being what would normally be an U-23 defence. He's correct. It's therefore not at all surprising we see the continuing errors; by implication it's not something Slutz can fix quickly.

It's not only about our defence. We have some reasonable players, but not a balanced squad. In front of our defence is a CM that is nowhere near good enough.

I agree Slutz needs to think about the image he is projecting from the touchline and how he (or a number 2) could better influence his team during a game. I would also like him to stop claiming that he has "very good players, very good squad", etc. He doesn't. Of course, he's trying to be positive not least for the players, but it needs a dose of reality too. The squad is nowhere near good enough, and the Allams need to know that.

I like Slutz and desperately want him to succeed. I fear it's wrong time wrong place for him though.

Made me chuckle reading Sergey apologising for his English. It's better than several on here for sure.

I was of the understanding he now has an assistant who sits in the stands during matches to get a better view.. believe it was annunced a few weeks back. One of his countrmen who worked with him previously.. Sorry can' recall his name but it' scores well in scramble!

Listen to me, Slutsky in Volgograd, Elista, FC Moscow, Krylia Sovetov have an assistant Sergey Shustikov, but he's dead (heart disease). In CSKA - Victor Goncharenko, but now he is a Manager of CSKA.
Oleg Yarovinskiy is a scout. He has great connections in the Scandinavian and European transfer markets. But he is not a coach.
