    He is now.

'His duties start immediately and he will work closely with the existing first team coaching and recruitment staff.'

Still seems odd that Slutski came alone in June and didn't appoint a trusted scout until October who he then asked to muck in with coaching?

Slutsky needs to go for his own good and own sanity. This job is doing him no favours at all and I think making him look a worse manager than he is.

Decent points but the players we sold in the summer were the same players who got this club relegated and conceded 80 goals in doing so. Personally I thought it was good business although I would have liked to have kept Tom Huddlestone
We also kept Dawson, Meyler and McGregor from last season's squad. So the backbone of the team was still in place although the injury to Hermandez was a massive blow.
We have bought some talented players but it does seem as though Slutsky doesn't know how or where to play them. He also looks like a nervous wreck on the touchline and appears to offer no instructions or anything.
I think he will be given more time but a huge improvement is required quickly.

McGregor wasn't even in our squad last season.

I fully agree Bruce had his faults on the playing side, even though on the whole I accepted his tactics, which were basically defensive, I for one used to criticise his tactics from time to time as well as his substitutions.

The main point of my last post, was that it has become even more evident since he left that he was the glue that held the whole club together off the field as well as on it, which was no mean feat dealing with these 2 idiots.

I know he studied for a coach , but in real life he is a scout. A good scout. But he is coach experience is 0, I think.

He was loaned out to recover from his shoulder injury and was our number one before he suffered that.
The point is that he wasn't sold and he is an experienced player which we kept.

Have you thought about why Russian people don't go to the United Kingdom? :)

We're not short of coaches, he was appointed to give Leonid a familiar face and countryman to work with.

Results suggest we might be short of decent coaches, no?

He is a first Russian manager in English football, great responsibility. Hull is a big club, supporters with a big heart. He tries to prove his proficiency in English Football.

Well he could have resigned if he thought promises had been broken. If the Chelsea loans were his trump card they haven't really worked out well. Ehab probably will only put puppets in charge who just want to get into English football, but that won't help us. He's wanted managers recently who were affable (and had charisma like people felt Silva had as well) , but that just covered up the fact that they were just there to do his bidding, accept sales and get loans. The team has fallen apart under them at the end of last season and now here, no steel.

I agree with others about him sounding defeated after games, the players also look like that.

I think Pennock's an excellent coach, obviously something's going wrong, but I'm not convinced it's down to him.

Leonid Slutsky is a “potential candidate” to replace Michael Emenalo as technical director of Chelsea (Guardian).

Yeah. I suppose it it the same as it is with us expatriate Britons. Wild horses couldn't drag us back to England. The problem is though, it is a love / hate relationship, and we can't help watching from a distance.
