If they were players we would say they are badly out of form and need a rest, but they are not coaches, one is a scout and the remainder probably just confused by it all; either way something is very wrong...
Even if Len leaves or get sacked who is going to take the job with both hands tied behind their backs by our management. We need a proper manager who has the ability to chose his players and the chairman tries to get them for him. If that is not there for whoever is in charge in January we will be in deep ****.
Part of Slutskys attraction was his connection to Chelsea, and probably the main reason why we have three Chelsea loan players in the side. He's the man responsible for them being here and he is the man they should be listening too. He coaches them, he picks them. We could have spent a bit more cash pre season, as much as Boro even, but it doesn't guarantee success. As it was we did bring in £14m worth of players and on paper we have a talented squad. But they play like a load of strangers. Who is that down too ? Both Grosicki and Henrikson can obviously play and it is down to the manager to get the best of out them. But he's not doing it. That's obvious, then he talks of a lack of team spirit etc, isn't that his job too ? There is a lot wrong at City at the moment but what happens on the pitch on a match day is the manager responsibility. The Championship is wide open this season, I don't see a stand-out team in it all. It wouldn't take a football genius to turn this squad a round, just someone who knows what they are doing and knows the opposition.
I guess only time will tell on the quality, or lack of, in the squad - I think Slutsky's days are probably numbered, and then, should we get a battle hardened manager, we'll see if our fortunes miraculously change; I hope you're right cos back-to-back relegations would be a disaster.
I would prefer him to stay but if he were to go he could do us one last favour and take Michael Hector with him.
Nothing to do with expatriate Britons. Russians need a work visa here, which means in football terms they need some international experience to prove they can come over to get the Sky money. Slutsky had that, but it will be harder to find that with assistants for him or Russian players. That's a contrast with the gamble last season with Silva who being from the EU could bring across all his coaching staff. Though that gamble failed by the end anyway.
I'm at odds here... I don't think Slut got his Chelsea choices at all (Tomori apart maybe).... he wanted Abraham, he went elsewhere. I suspect there has been some loan fee attached to some Chelsea players or significant shares of salary that Escab was not prepared to pay and like last season I don't think the manager has total free rein over teams selections... sort of 'I paid for him he's playing'!!
