Ahead of this fixture I nicked the following from Sky. Interesting given the supposed flaws in our defence -

'Since shipping six at home to Tottenham, United have officially been the most defensively sound team in the Premier League, conceding the fewest goals (3), facing the joint-fewest amount of shots (34) and producing an 'expected goals against' figure of just 3.14 - the lowest figure of any Premier League side. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, yet again, has found a solution to a problem and is starting to see the best of Bruno Fernandes in a slightly more advanced role. It makes them a tough team to beat.'

There used to a time in the past that we could guarantee at least four points from the next two matches regardless of the opponents.

I would be beyond chuffed if we could get four in the next two games. That would put us four points off Liverpool.

    Absolute **** again.

    Fred and Matic.

Are we really so worried by Southampton that we have to play both? Really?

Greenwood has missed two that i really would have expected him (in particular) to score.
When you look the bench we only have Mata and Cavani that could make any difference and i am doubtful they would.

You play Cavani at centre forward with Greenwood and Rashford either side and take off a lumbering defensive midfielder.

Quite straightforward I would have thought.

One step forward, two steps backwards! The Manchester United‘s way.

Let’s see if there is a response in the second half.

Matic’s control at the edge of the box for an attack play. That was laughable.

He’s throwing himself at everything. Couple of passes went astray. But he has energy that we don’t get from Martial.

We would have lost this game without Cavani. He literally throws himself at everything! Amazing!!!

When you've got a finisher of the class of Cavani he should start the games. It's mental when he doesn't.

He's our centre forward, the end.

His drive is second to none in the squad. Complements Bruno very well driving forward. Martial has to sit the bench now. No doubt about it!

In my earlier thread I said Ole should better accept that our no 9 is Cavani.

Today he’s removed any doubt. We’ve ****ing wasted 2 golden chances without him. But he dragged us back into a match with a poachers instinct that Martial and Greenwood can only dream of.

3 points all down to Cavani.
