Still would be same players. After the bounce it would end up getting hammered and playing hoof ball.
I mentioned "the big January spend", but I was actually being sarcastic. In truth, I think the club have lied in yet another PR article, and there is no money. In short it will be down to RH to produce another miracle. I wonder... maybe we should start considering loan deals. We haven't had any loans for ages, I'm sure there could be some players out there needing games?
Good point. Lallana and Lovren aren't guaranteed starters at one of the northern clubs, I hear. Consider this blue, btw, before I get trolled.
I am desperate enough that I would actually take those two twats on loan if it could happen. At least with their egos you know they wouldn't give up and lose 9-0
We don’t need to spend, and I am not sure it will help. We aren’t very good, but we do have the talent to stay up if PEH gets his mojo back and Djenepo is as good as I think he might be. I don’t know what is rotten at the club, whether Hasenhuttl’s tactics are too hard to follow or what might be causing a loss of confidence. But we fix that and stay up, or we go down. IMO, there is no player we can buy in the winter window that can change that equation. It would be a desperation buy and those tend not to work out.
I dont disagree but we need to spend. Fresh blood willing to displace the staus quo and play for the manager. We need a CB desperately and we need a dynamic midfielder. We are also without any recognisable LB and RB apparently. I certainly dont recognise the ones we've used at times.
But where's the money coming from? Our situation hasn't changed in that we need to get rid of one first.
I miss the old days, when we could bring in top quality players at the end of their careers. We could do with Alan Ball, Dave Watson, Mick Mills type players, people with the experience to get the best out of the young players around them. Doesn’t happen anymore because they are either too rich to bother or chase even more money abroad.
Yes, can you imagine getting players like Charlie George, Frank Worthington, Joe Jordan or, even, Sparky towards the end of their careers? Wouldn’t work these days, because they’re on such huge salaries we couldn’t afford them and they’re not willing to take a cut. They know someone (maybe China or the US will give them big bucks) so no need to come to a “small” club and give the benefit of their experience. It’s a sad situation, but we have to live with it. Maybe there’s someone in the academy who could come through and be brilliant?
If the club do bring in new players in January it will take them time to settle in so there isn't likely to be an immediate upturn. It will need a few real quality players to change the pattern of things as they are now. Perhaps the problem with the team is that the way Ralph wants the team play is overly complicated and players are being over coached technically, and it's stifling the natural rhythm that players develop?
