For this game I'd personally like to see Ralph tweak the formation a little, Still in keeping with our play style, but a little more defensive., i think 4 1 4 1 should be adopted here; Macca; KWP Bednarek, Stephens, Bertrand; Romeu; Armstrong, PeH, JWP, Redmond; Ings.
Play it at Vicarage Road, where our last defeat, according to the commentary, was in 2007 when we were in the championship.
The one thing you can be sure of is that City won’t sit deep and invite us on to them. They’ll attack us from the off, which plays right into our hands, the hapless fools. I almost feel sorry for them...
Is it worth continuing with PEH? I'd try Will Smallbone, as he seemed assured vs Watford, and PEH appears to be disinterested.
If Ralph wanted to rest players for this one, I'd be totally fine. I know the dates for Brighton and Bmouth haven't been confirmed yet, but because Man Utd is on a Monday night, our final six games will almost certainly read: Sunday, Thursday, Monday, Thursday, Sunday/Monday, Sunday. Five matches in two weeks. So binning off the City game would be OK with me.
From the evidence I have seen on the pitch Adams is ahead of Long and Obafemi. He should be played from the start for the rest of the season.
On the flip side, a full strength City team will be battling L'pool on Thursday. I say we take our A game and make them work.
The only problem is that City’s second string team is probably good enough to finish in the top 5 in its own right.
I agree. But we both know we can give them a game. Lets go for it. When ever did resting players help us anyway!
Play the kids to rest everyone. Lose 10-0 and the win then remaining games and qualify for Europe. Guaranteed to be in every quiz for years to come
