Weird one, this. Sheffield are a lot better than they have shown so far, so I'm not as confident as I normally would be when playing against the bottom side.

Hopefully their run of form continues and we feckin' smash them.

It's a real banana skin game, the Saints of old would lose this through complacency, hopefully Ralph has a good game plan in mind.

Personally I think we’ll use the Adams hammer first, follow up with a Ward-Prowse javelin, then a shot from Walcott, before finishing off with the old Ings discus.

Probably will be a low scoring game. Don't want them to score early otherwise they will make it very difficult for us to break them down. I'd start Djenepo at LB for this.

I would start with Djenepo on the bench, for this, and see if the Redmond/Bertrand partnership can click.
Use Djenepo and Walcott off the bench if we need something different to break through.
Ings and Adams to lead from the front. Not sure how good their defenders are against a high press, so hoping that we will pin them back as much as possible and win possession close to their goal.
Do they have any speedsters to worry about, on the counter?

I'm more worried about our fans than Sheffield United.

I don't think people are catching on, but my Djenepo at LB was a blue ink comment (without the blue ink so my fault). I don't think he should ever start at LB despite the fact that he scored the winner last season at Sheffield Utd having started the game at LB! I agree that I'd bring Redmond back for this one in place of Djenepo and have Walcott and Djenepo as options off the bench. This is assuming Redmond and Ings are fit enough to start, but nice to have some attacking options. And if we really need a goal, bring Salisu on and move Big Vest up front.

Why, what do you think they're going top do? Groans at wayward passes are unlikely to be audible given the numbers

Good point. I was being a little bit facetious in fairness. It's a game we "should" win on current form, so it's precisely the type of game we'd always historically lose. But it's a good test to see if this new Saints thing is continuing...

They have to win at some point, why not this week? We generally struggle at home to these sorts of teams.

12/1 is great value anyway imo.

Firstly, the teams we've struggled against in the past we've beaten this season. Secondly, Ings is back so the chances of us not scoring are minimal. And thirdly, Sheffield United really aren't a good side. I've no doubt they will park the bus but we've got the tool to break down a wall - JWP's right foot.
