Totally off topic - but this was why Graham Taylor was such a wonderful manager. For us at least, he moulded the team's style around the strengths of each player - didn't try to fit the players into a system. To get what he got out of players like Jenkins, Bolton, Rostron, Taylor etc was remarkable.
This sounds like Tamas Priskin and Aidy Boothroyd! Boothroyd had the team continually lumping balls up to a man who couldn't turn. And he couldn't see why the side wasn't scoring. When Malky started getting balls threaded through to a Priskin facing the goal, he scored quite a few. Good luck for the rest of the season, LTL.
Yesterday I watched and was very impressed with a real team effort. I did get worried when half our defence had to go off injured at the same time, but scoring that second goal meant I could watch and enjoy without reaching for a glass to steady the nerves.
I suppose it just confirms that there have been poor referees for a long time. Sadly for today's incumbents, multi-angle tv replays means they can't escape unnoticed!
I dont get to many away games any more and yes sometimes on TV i have seen us play well and win, But this game our 3 center midfield was for most of the game in total control and made us look like we was the home team .The last time i can remember us doing that was the 1st time in the old Div 1 with Graham .Hi ho silver has come to town to rescue us and has put the grim reaper do bed once and for all . im going to the next 3 game (trying to book WBA and Swansea tomoow
Fantastic result but such a good performance too - and the atmosphere!!! Silva has them playing as a team, everyone seems to have brought into it... working for each other. Seems to have pace and power but also ability The midfield 3 just look fantastic, and with the wide men looking good, I'm struggling to see where Pereyra may fit into it now! Only negative is the injuries - but Kabasele, what a rock! Starting to become who will partner him each week (although at the moment, who is fit to partner him)
There was a story that he got an elbow to the head as well as a kicking. Came off limping but collapsed/fainted in the dugout and taken to hospital. Could be anything - concussion favourite I guess - but maybe he has a low pain threshold and fainted from the dead leg or other leg injury pain he had It is being kept quiet though as no news of him returning to Watford. Hope he is ok for City though and think he should start if fit but if he had concussion he is out for certain. What about Prodl & Kaboul injuries though? Will they be fit in time?
Haven't heard anything about Prodl - but can't imagine Kaboul being fit anytime soon. Maybe a debut for Wague?
On Match of the Day he does get clattered by somebody for the free kick Holebas nearly scored from.. As for Prodl - WO said he was touch and go for Saturday as it was so presume he will be fit.
