Irvine. F1's prize ****er. Looks for every opportunity to big himself up and belittle all others except the one he simply cannot because he chose a sycophantic, financially rewarding role in being teamed with him. And in bigging up Schumacher, he seeks to undermine all others and elevate his own (very questionable) talent. Irvine was lucky to be around during the era Ferrari were singularly compliant with the contractual demands of its number one driver: to ensure no credible opposition from within the team. That's why he got a drive. He was there to pick up the pieces if they ever became available, but on the one occasion this situation occurred, he couldn't. He was incapable of becoming a World Champion in his own right – as demonstrated when Schumacher was out of it and it was there for his taking – complete with the sudden and abrupt support from his team normally reserved for his team mate. Irvine's motivation was entirely financial, and he is still so uncomfortable with that reality that he continues to attack all others (especially British drivers) – except the one he simply cannot because doing so would undermine himself. Irvine. F1's prize ****er…
Read the article and came straight here to enjoy the reactions. One thing is for certain - Irvine has a real talent for PR!
When I used to go to races , I heard several stories about several drivers .. Edmund always came across as a nasty spiteful vindictive piece of ..... Laugh is , when he first appeared I liked him
P.S. I like your misspelling of the ****er's name. Even to be mentioned here is more than he deserves.
Irvine (or Ervine … who really cares)? I'm not normally given to profanities – and maybe it's the product of one too many G&Ts; but I'll spell out his name as clearly as possiblbe: First name: Prize Six letter surname: ****er. Four letter surname: Cxxx. Apologies to the forum for using such terminology but this gin is so good. P.S. Just to be clear, Edmund, you are not welcome at this party…
Irvine and Villeneuve. Forever trying to out do each other for who can be the biggest tool. I guess you need a big mouth when you're lacking elsewhere.
The irony meter has broken with Irvine's article. One good season when he nearly lucked into the WDC, maybe he needs to be reminded of that before spouting such stuff about a 4 x WDC.
I was away last week, missed the chatter. Just read the article, he is seeing it through rose coloured glasses. Those of us who watched that era know better, he never earned respect. If he saw what those who were better were doing, why didn't he follow their lead and become a better driver, because he couldn't. He was a one trick pony himself.
Well Cosi, my old friend, I use profanities all the time but on this occasion I will resist the temptation to reply regarding Irvines capabilities as you seem to have expertly produced a superlative summary regarding the subject, brilliant. Must have attended a good school near Repton eh.
Just been reading the articles concerning our most successful British F1 driver as published in the March 2019 edition of Motor Sport magazine, well worth a read. Even if you are not a Lewis Fan !!!!!!!
