He may be a 7 times champion but outside of racing he really doesn't have a clue does he https://www.racefans.net/2020/11/20...ns-bid-to-stop-watch-maker-using-his-surname/ Maybe its best he does keep in the racing circle and not venture out
His company just made him look daft , IMHO . Did you click on the link about Tax avoidance on his Jet ? He’s not the only one of course , but still .
You can't blame him for trying to stop someone trademarking the name that happens to be his surname. When he stops driving he will want to 'trade' on his name and boost the 'Hamilton' brand. Now the century old company has trademarked 'Hamilton', why didn't they do it sooner?, he will have to work on new branding. Maybe 'Lewis 44' but not as snappy as Hamilton! As for jets and tax avoidance - personally I blame the UK gov. If they really wanted to stop rich people 'avoiding' tax then they should change the tax laws! Who wouldn't reduce the amount of tax they pay given a legal opportunity? Now his previous 'green' credentials have changed and he appears to be more concerned by environment and his fellow man than he used to be. As far as I am concerned it's not a problem to change your opinion when you learn more about a subject. All that sounds very Hamalotty. While I do respect his skills I'm not sold on his personality but he is maturing quite well
Yes fair comment ref the tax . Change the rules, but I think he's pushing it ref trademarking the name Hamilton .
MP's want F1 to stop Middle East sports washing, but the £5b arms trade can restart, even though they're still in Yemen.
You'll be horrified by this interpretation, but you accidentally implied that many politicians are slippery, unscrupulous people whose rock-solid and loudly-flaunted principles can be quietly put to one side when they become inconvenient.
They were citing the technology not being applicable to road cars, which was the whole point, so that’s worrying. An article I was reading suggested that part of it is that while FE enables you to learn a lot about battery development, road cars need batteries optimised for range whereas FE makes you develop batteries for power and they very different. I’m there are other factors at play though. I’ll find the article.
I got the impression that FE was getting a bit too much spec series like for the big boys to want to bother. You can't have the best of both worlds, either allow development (and costs), or make it spec (and lose the manufacturers)
