Jason Roy!! What a catch!!

The game has moved on over the past 5-10 years and these boundary catches are almost commonplace now.

 

How many overs will it take Roy and Bairstow to destroy the Aussies?
311 is about 35 overs worth for these two.

 

Turned out to be quite leisurely. Nearly 45 overs, disgracefully slow - probably would have only reached 350/360 in the full 50 overs. Yawn.

 

As good as Joe Root obviously is, he's about 30 runs per 100 balls short of holding down a place at the moment looking at how quickly the others are scoring consistently

 

So if Stokes comes back into the team, is it Joe Root who should get left out?

 

By the way, did anyone else notice that Root was caught Short the other day.........?

 

Difficult.
He can hold the innings together on pitches less favourable to the batsmen.
And he bowled 10 overs for just 44 runs on a good batting wicket the other day.
But who else gets the chop if he doesn't?
Stokes has to play because he offers a lot in all three disciplines.
