Let's hope not. The Aussies still have a new ball so 300-4 could be 350 all out knowing England. But I live in hope they'll get 500+ and give themselves a chance of winning the game.
England have a great chance here to press on and make a score or 450+, hopefully they don`t have a second day collapse and end up all out for less than 400. Really hope Bairstow goes on and makes a ton, he`s a fine player and great to watch.
Poor today. Last six wickets lost for 35 runs (yet another batting collapse). Then let the Aussies off the hook with dropped catches. Can they put together two consecutive good days of cricket?
Sir Ian Botham said on local radio commentary that England will not be able to compete until they learn other ways to bowl. Obviously the ball is not swinging on Oz pitches so the coaches need another plan. He also mentioned that Overton was the only bowler that is coming close to bowling to the conditions.
Lacking the pace needed - as well as a top class spinner. And the batsmen have struggled to cope with the extra pace and bounce because they're not used to it - even though conditions have generally been good for batting. We can't play on fast pitches; we can't play on turning pitches. Why aren't we developing cricketers who can perform in overseas conditions given that we play a Test series abroad every year?
5 overs gone and it already looks ominous for England. Australia 26-0. Tom Curran on debut but his medium pace won't trouble any of their batsmen
