You are right. Thinking about the players we have let go when they were younger, Ritchie, Pack, Ward, Pearce, Chaplin, .... illustrates how wasteful Pompey are in not really utilising.the young talent that is here in Hampshire.
Yes but despite have been hurt by him before, he suckered us in and then swiftly dumped us with with little warning. The perfect metaphor for my ex.
Nah the moral of the story is to not become attached to anyone or anything. Everyone leaves you in the end.

FGR can find 350k to buy him? Having said that, and if he rocks up.at FP, wejat happened to Hume, Jacobs, Curtis, Koroma? Lots for Cowley to ponder!!

He can play left side centre half, left back or midfield, which makes him a versatile prospect. Been out on loan with AFC Wimbledon for the first half of this season, impressing on the left hand side of a three man defence. UPDATE: Pompey have completed his signing. The 20-year-old centre-back has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Blues. Sporting director Richard Hughes said: “We’re delighted to get the deal over the line and sign a player with the profile of Ryley. “When it broke earlier in the day that we were interested in a deal, I’m sure there were a lot of clubs kicking themselves that they weren’t able to act sooner. “Having someone with his skillset and ceiling to progress is great for this football club, so it’s nice to have him on board. “He’s a left-footed centre-back with good mobility and athleticism, as well as a lovely range of passing. “Ryley is someone we’ve been watching and he’s had good experience out on loan, doing well at Grimsby and AFC Wimbledon. “We think that this is a natural progression for him to continue his development and we believe the fans will enjoy watching that.” Towler is a graduate of the Bristol City academy and made his Championship debut for the club last season. He had a stint on loan with Grimsby last season and has spent the first half of the current campaign with AFC Wimbledon. Towler came off the bench when the Dons drew 1-1 at Fratton Park in the Papa Johns Trophy back in November.
Great news that Louis Thompson has recovered from his broken leg, and came on as a second half substitute against Spurs yesterday, but further bad news that fellow midfielder Jay Mingi who has played really well recently has suffered a medial ligament injury in training, and is now out for at least two months

Pompey youngster Liam Vincent has joined National League South side Worthing on loan until the end of the season. The defender has moved to the Woodside Road side for the remainder of the season after spending the majority of the first half of the campaign at Hampton & Richmond Borough. The 19-year-old makes the switch just weeks after bagging a hat-trick for The Beavers in a 4-3 defeat to Worthing on Boxing Day. Vincent made 19 appearances during a hugely productive spell at the Beveree Stadium, before being recalled by the Blues at the start of this month.

Portsmouth have agreed a deal to sign Luton Town goalkeeper Matt Macey on loan. please log in to view this image The 28 year old, 6'7" tall former Arsenal youth product had been linked with a move to Scotland after interest was shown by both Aberdeen and Dundee United. However, Portsmouth have won the race to sign the experienced stopper. Macey has struggled for first-team action at Luton this season with Ethan Horvath being preferred as number one so far. Macey’s sole appearance for the Hatters came in an EFL Cup clash against Newport County in August. The experienced goalkeeper began his youth career at Bristol Rovers but was then snapped up by Arsenal’s academy in 2013 where he was loaned out to Accrington Stanley, Luton and Plymouth.
Portsmouth are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Sunderland defender Bailey Wright. please log in to view this image According to Sunderland FanNation, Pompey are set to win the race for the 30-year-old, who had attracted interest from a number of clubs this month. Scottish Premiership sides Aberdeen and Hibernian and League One promotion chasers Derby County were all keeping tabs on Wright, as per the Daily Record, but Pompey are now seemingly the front runners to land his signature. A move to Fratton Park would reunite Wright with new Pompey head coach John Mousinho after the pair played together at Preston North End between 2012 and 2014. Mousinho has made it clear that recruiting a new centre-half is his priority for the remainder of the window after Clark Robertson’s injury left him short on depth. Wright joined the Black Cats on loan from Bristol City in January 2020, before making the move permanent that summer. He helped them to promotion to the Championship through the play-offs last campaign, but has found his minutes limited in the second tier. The Australia international has played just 13 league games, with some of those coming as substitute appearances, while has been left out of the matchday squad a number of occasions. The 6' tall centre half has 27 full international caps for Australia. With present central defender Michael Morrison apparently about to join Cambridge United as player coach, he sounds like an ideal replacement, especially with Clark Robertson still out injured.
