not too sure tbh...made some Keema yesterday...still got that. Will see if anyone joining me tonight then take it from there tbh.
The fast break is normally a short sugar and liquids rich snack. Real meal comes later, after praying. Another 35 minutes to go here and Day 2 done. Out with the granddaughter at gymnastics so will need to rush home afterwards. Probably more traffic accidents in the hour before Maghrib than any other time as everyone rushes home to eat after a full day of fasting.
I don't know about the Christmas dates tbh. A lot of the ones sold here are Tunisian. Now though, you get them from all over the middle-east over here especially visiting the asian grocers. The fatter they are the more expensive seems to be the case. Saw one for £36 for a Ferrero Roche sized box ffs!
Daughter said seeing this pic that she would rather go hungry....Eating a Cornetto at the time however
Have to say I like the look of those dates, but then I like all fruit and veg. Wouldn't mind trying them myself. I was looking on the supermarker shop the other day, and for Ramadan they were selling dates (better than the xmas crap ones). Was tempted to buy some, but then forgot, until Jaka start discussing them.
Just been looking at that Yaffa website... https://yaffa.co.uk/54-palestinian-medjoul-dates Tempted but I don't want £35 worth, can't see their delivery charges for the smaller boxes, just to try.
Found the delivery charge....only £2 delivery for something like this... https://yaffa.co.uk/palestinian-medjoul-dates/19-palestinian-medjoul-dates-jumbo-900g.html
Get down to any local indian grocers, the ones with the racks of fruit and veg outside and you'll find them there. You don't need to get the Palestinian ones, they're £35 mainly because of all the border restrictions etc Palestinians have to go through to get them out. You could pay about £6 to £10 for a large box of Medinah ones (highly recommend) which are just as big and juicy. I find dates very moorish tbh, if I have one I'll eat half the box.
I only have them during Ramadan. Its tradition to break your fast with a date and water Quality ones can be very moorish like Trebs said tho...like eating soft toffee
saw these bottled Fanta, had to purchase for tonight...was looking for Diet Coke but no luck...Fanta make a banging strawberry flava in a bottle...havent come across it for a while
