    It’s the national fruit of Pakistan...it’s in the dna...the local shop gets them in every year...I think they are called Chaunsa mangoes, some honey mangoes too. 5 in a box, £6 a pop...well worth it...fat and yellow...sweet as

    yeah same reason...we have similar reasons behind the rules about eating animals etc plus they are filthy creatures etc etc

    So for hygene and health reasons? I only ask as I watch a Jewish guy on YouTube and he regularly tucks into pork. He explained the reason as back in the day there was a risk of infection due to pork not being stored/cooked properly so it was avoided which is understandable. But these days pork is butchered properly and cooked well so he says it's not an issue.

    yeah he will say what he wants to so that he can tuck in

    probably @West WindsR

    but the faith has laws that are more complex than that like the fact that they are prohibited from eating 2 hooved animals and pig falls into that category.

    Yeah only animals with split hooves that chew the cud. Fish have to have fins and scales.

    Complete load of bollocks, of course, but less risk of creating global pandemics.
