I'm really getting into Bluegrass, which can lead me into Cajun. I'm very keen to drive around the southern United States once Mrs B hangs up her handcuffs. The music's a great mix of Celtic, African and a whole load of others and is the birthplace of modern music.
The last trip I had to Glasgow the evening was finished off with a couple of deep fried Tunnocks Caramel Wafers after making sure the defibrillator back at the hotel was fully charged
RIP Christine McVie I don't know why, but I was surprised to read that she was 79...a year younger than my mother. Somehow, that seems wrong. I'm not a massive fan of their music...but it was pretty bloody good to play 'Ladies & Gentlemen' to...and 'Tango In The Night' got some significant playing in the late 80's. Thanks for those memories
She was a trailblazer in her own right. Helped to establish women as serious rock musicians through her talent during the late Sixties and early Seventies, before becoming a real icon. Great singer and songwriter and many careers since owe her a huge debt. RIP Christine!
Another reminder that truly great groups transcend time and genre ,,, Rest easy Christine, your work here is done.
As usual I've arrived late to the game as this is the title track from their newly released 2nd LP but I've been having a spell of coming across fairly obscure newish garage bands recently and felt it needed to be put out there especially as The Mudd Club seem to have a bit of a Cramps vibe to them and we all know how much Thanks for that Brian likes a "dirty" female singer! And just for balance a little more psychedelic than just plain garage but with a "dirty" guitar instead from The Total Rejection!
If the Total Rejection video was in Black and White you could experience my childhood with the 2nd hand TVs we had in our house , liked the track btw
Loved both tracks...but The Total Rejection video was too much for me at this early hour. I'd like to see The Mudd Club live, so Mrs B will be following them on Facebook. On the subject of Female singers, Mrs B's got us on the guest list to see The Molotovs support The Professionals @ 229 The Venue on 19 December. She was at a meeting and the lady sitting next to her spied her phone cover, which has a picture of the two of us at Blackpool. That led to a discussion about music, gigs, etc....and it turns out the woman's daughter is the drummer in The Molotovs... ...Yes, I know...the bassist...
