My favourite version of this song is by Norma Waterson, the redoubtable veteran surround-sound-voiced member of the Yorkshire folk-singing family (now performing as a group no more, having lost both Mike and Lal in recent years - alas!) and mother of the sparky musical genius Eliza Carthy, MBE (Martin Carthy’s her dad). Can’t find Norma’s version on the net, so here’s an older version by Josef Locke (she sings a song about him too!), and a banjo band (sic) playing the original march tune. I still prefer Norma’s rich velvet tones. Enough of this! We have to beat the Blades on Saturday…. Blaze Away>Blades Away… geddit? We'll say goodbye to all our troubles When we beat the Blades today, And when they've all gone back to Yorkshire, We'll never worry when we meet again away. And as the Tottnam turn to winning, Harry Kane will keep on grinning, Heung Min Son keeps playing, And every trouble fades away! Here we are, there's work to do! And we can’t give in to Sheff U! Sing them a song and we'll Spurs up! Sing them a song and we'll Spurs up - ha ha, ha hey! Score a third one through our Eric Dier, Watch the score go higher and higher! Blazing away, blazing away, oh, Lo Celso calms our worries down today. We'll say goodbye etc Prediction Spurs 3 Sheffield Utd 2 Scorers: Kane, Son, Dier Cheers, Spurf! (and stand to attention when I talk to you….!)
Despite my negativity...if you look back at my predictions...I rarely don't back our boys...hence me keeping Colin company this year
