On the face of it points wise we could finish up in 13th with a bad result today as all the teams around from Millwall on 33 points with a win could overtake us ….
However, there always is a however! …. we are lucky that 6 of those teams play each other in pairs as their points get lower!

    BRENTFORD v SWANSEA
    HULL v FLOREST
    CARDIFF v MILLWALL
Blackburn the other one is home to Birmingham …. SIMPLY put wins for those 4 home teams would see CITY [Lose] in 11th position ... unless City WIN and then we would be 8th! the best expected position on the day
BEST scenario would be CITY WIN = 38 points ====
to finish up in 7th Brentford or Swansea would need to win ... Blackburn lose or draw or win but by 2 goals less GD than CITY.... so A WIN today as a kick start for the season is a MUST

Wins for QPR & Birmingham would also bring the melting pot to the brim of spilling over! ..AND A BIG DIVIDE … a 4 & 5 point gap between 15th and 16th ….
    ROLL on 16.50 hours

well the most concentrated period of football is now behind us [ almost .. just a cup replay to drag it out ] and we have come out of it rather bruised but not so that we need intensive care.
and it could have been worse... a lot worse Florest Sheff and PNE only doing a little better than CITY! …
MLLWALL and BRENTFORD having a real purple patch, Millwall from season ave of 1.35 pts per game managed 2pts
whilst Brentford from 1.5 pts managed 2.29 both of these purple patch's better than WBA season ave of 1.96 [ city season ave 1.52 ]

fixtures spread out a bit this weekend SHEFF V BBURN would benefit us as a draw.

DERBY to beat HULL marginally best result

MILLWALL to be shaded by READING or a draw
Cardiff, Brentford, Swansea, Florest look to be wins and a draw for PNE would be beneficial... of course should we lose or draw have to hope they all draw!

    good results all round
interesting fixtures for the top 3 coming up [ to end of season ]
LEEDS [ 6 games ]has marginally the easiest run in of the top 3 probably by a whisker WBA [ 8 games ] 2nd and Fulham [8 ] 3rd [ playing teams in top 10 ]
CITY 8 games have 4a AND 4 h ….. leeds a ,wba h ,mill a ,fulh h ,sheff h ,florest a , swan a ,pne last game h CITY NEED to start Feb with a bang and win 5 on the bounce or go undeafeated! …..
less than 57 points by end of feb and our season is done ….. not negative, being realistic

Jan 28th looks to be a big night Stoke will have played Swansea

Blackburn v QPR ………... cant affect city posn
Brentford v Nottm Forest cant affect city posn
Cardiff v West Brom …...….cant affect city posn
Leeds v Millwall ………… cant affect city posn

    and you have
Hull v Huddersfld ……. cant affect city posn
Wigan v Sheff a win for Sheff ………. could take us down 1 to 10th
whilst the late game is Reading v CITY
so many games/teams in the mix tonight and should City not win, and Sheff do then we can drop to 10th with possibility of a very congested top 14th - 3 rd !

well done Wigan! Saturday … this could be tough ….
PNE v Swansea ; Sheff v Millwall ; are the only effective pairings [ within 6 points ] the rest of top 12 play lower teams!
worst case is we drop to 8th .. so need a point or another win …… 2 new players might swing it!
