Cheers LOHAG Let’s hope that we are both at/near the top of the Championship table at the end of next season

We did defend very well so he has to take some credit for that. If Armstrong had been fit he’d have terrorised Jagielka who was very solid in the air but a complete liability whenever he had to move. Stoke were atrocious and never looked like carving us open even with two quick strikers. They took Smallbone (Jonjo lookalike) off who was MOTM by some distance for them and offered nothing after.
Hi Bob. I was beginning to wonder whether you were touching up your CV to join the coaching team. Gazza has restored the faith and belief and we will scrap and fight for every point but as we know we'll need a bit more than that to get back in to promotion mode. The time has come old mate Step up to the challenge. **** the Hakka. The difference in players attitude, even the spineless ones has been meteoric as shown by the way the whole team went to the fans at the end.
Well they did. He may not be articulate but he has learned the messages over the years. Encourage and praise to the hilt and be positive in public. Save your criticism and ranting at individual players for when they are behind closed doors. And whatever you do, don't do what Critchley did which frankly would not have inspired any confidence, loyalty or passion in any player.
Looking forward to a major cull of the players who have given anything but everything for the majority of the season. Two fortunate games and other teams having points deductions have saved our bacon. Unless there are major changes, next season will be every bit as painful.
I agree, definately worth remembering how the points deductions have made our position a lot more palatable. I have similar feelings as I did the year John Gregory kept us up. How he spoke of the players unity, pushing on next season... He lasted until 1 October the next season.
Yes. But I remember the circumstances as well. The untimely death of Ray Jones knocked the stuffing out of the team and the introduction of the new owners, Bernie and Flav meant that they were not going to hang around watching their investment go down the drain. No manager would have survived the combination of those events. We know that because once Flav had got the taste for it he changed managers every few months literally every time they didn't allow him dictate tactics and starting line ups. Ainsworth wouldn't survive if something similar happened. But I can't see that happening because we won't have a team of players desperate to get off the pitch happy having only lost 3-0 and who could not care less.
Your memory of the details are a lot better than mine, I do remember the feeling though that staying up wasn't necessarily something to get too overly excited about. That a lot needed to change for us not to be in the same position again. I hope for GA's sake correct changes are made over the next few months.
We have stayed up by the skin of our teeth. We were looking down and out. I do give Ainsworth credit for getting this lot fighting for the club. That and an awful lot of luck got us those two away wins.
Looked at uncles winning goal yesterday. How good was Lowe in that move.!!!! Lowe made that goal, first with his defence cutting pass and then with his get and go to Tim. I would keep him in a flash
