Summer 2014 Transfer rumour thread - Part VIII

And don't forget Matt Targett who played quite well against Millwall. He might not be ready for the Prem yet, but by next season or possibly earlier he will be. So currently we have Bertrand, who seems to be as good as Shaw going forward, and nearly as good defending, and Targett as backup and for the future. Not too shabby.

 

Jrod has reaffirmed his desire to leave this Summer. But he definitely will not be sold tomorrow!

 

I think that's a bit daft of both him and Morgan unless the club have really burnt bridges there. Why don't they wait and see if and how we progress and look over the course of this season first, along with the fact that their precious MP might get sacked by Spurs etc....

 

Have I missed something?

 

Having seen Townsend several times this season, I feel he isn't fit to lace up JRods boots.
Townsend and £14m for JRod? No ****ing chance!

The problem with that line is that 8 players who made first team appearances last season have left this summer and so far we've bought 6. There are 24 hours to go but so far we haven't added depth to the squad. If anything we have less depth.

 

I'd say there's very little chance Les or Ralph will sell to Pochettino. He did the dirty on them and this is about principal now.

 

So torn on Jay. I want all of the old cancer out, but I don't want Krueger to go back on his word that Jay is not for sale. Can't wait to have a squad that wants to be here. Sorry Morgan.

I'd say, being incredibly picky that we're one short upfront but I think with the progression of Targett and JWP and hopefully that of Gallagher too this year (not convinced so far). Beyond that, I think our depth looks pretty damn good if these rumoured deals do go ahead and nobody leaves

 

By the time Morgan and JRod leave, we will have a good side in place...more tolerable than if they left this summer. A couple of players would be expected to leave in most windows anyway...we just couldn't lose anymore now.

 

Guly and Osvaldo didn't feature much, hopefully to replaced by two imminent signings who will. Certainly more depth at CF and CB too.

 

I suspect that will change year on year.

 

Oh it has to. There's a risk that it even includes Sharp too, because I'm struggling to get an 8th otherwise.
