LEP intimates that PNE did not approach Leeds for Doukara, but that Leeds contacted NE to offload him.

After three turbulent years at Elland Road, recent reports from the Yorkshire Evening Post are suggesting that Souleymane Doukara is attracting the interest of a Championship rival.

The Senegalese workhorse is out of contract next summer and has failed to feature in any of Leeds United’s four games this season under new manager Thomas Christiansen.

And the fact that Leeds have strengthened their attack with the likes of Samu Saiz and Caleb Ekuban appear to have not only pushed Doukara out the starting XI but also encouraged interest in his services.
The Yorkshire Evening Post say an unnamed Championship club are considering a bid for the 25-year-old, and it remains to be seen whether Doukara will still be a Leeds player beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

And, inevitably, there are a legion of fans willing to stump up the petrol money and chauffeur Doukara to his next destination. More inspiration than perspiration certainly, his tally of six goals last season left a lot to be desired.
On the other hand, however, a number of Leeds supporters would be disappointed to see one of the side’s longest-running player’s leave. Doukara may not be the most technically gifted player, that stunning volley against Nottingham Forest in January was certainly an anomalie, but his effort cannot be questioned.

However, with Christiansen seemingly not viewing Doukara as a useful member of his squad, their manager may be a little more decisive about whether the 25-year-old is worth keeping or not.
