Problem with that out of contract list is that they will want astronomical wages to subsidize for the lack of transfer fee. Out of that list I'd probably want Giroud and Mata, but their wages will be way out of our league. Alot of these players will be looking for a final big contract in China/USA over us.
I'd take that to be honest ... a fit Benkovic is arguably a better technical player ... Boyata for £20 million from Celltic with Wes and Evans as cover ..
With the money being quoted for Maguire would happily take it, centre back is probably the one position we are really strong in. Think we are going to miss out onTielemans which would be a shame, he has quickly become a favorite
Whilst he’s our lovable slabbly oaf and I’d rather keep him, if we get that much and incoming transfers really are subject to incoming funds, it’d make more sense than selling Chilwell with the strength we have there (from the academy as well as Soy and Benk). If you think maybe £15mill could go to Brum for Adams (hope we go for him) and rumours of £25mill plus Silva for Tielemans (again likely be more in cash in reality) but even so that potentially leaves £20mill or so left to either go towards our infrastructure improvements or towards a top right winger
Apparently we have put a £90M(!) pricetag on Maguire. We are linked with 27yo Togolese CB Djene from Getafe again.
Seems like our standard rate for top players, don't see us getting in another CB unless Maguire leaves. Hes more or less Englands number 1 CB after Russia, so i guess the only reasons to leave would be Champions league and double/triple wages
Which are fairly significant reasons. I'd leave my job in a heartbeat for triple the salary and to play in the champions league.
We are linked with Leonardo Koutris - a 23yo Brazilian born Greek LB. Would be available for relatively cheap and could mean Chilwell could potentially play LW.
... or leave ... I would be concerned if we got a LB in early in the transfer window. I know Fuchs is off, but if that would be considered such a high priorty, then i'd have no faith in Chilwell sticking around.
Verbal agreement with Daniel Sturridge already agreed, and L'pool don't think the fee will cause problems. First one through the door by the sounds of it.
Wherever you have heard that its BS He is out of contract so there would be no fee. And it would be illegal to talk to Sturridge as he is still under contract
I'm not sure if I've made this up but I thought out of contact players could start discussions with other clubs when they are within a certain timescale of the end of their contract, 90 days or such like?
Can start discussions when they have 6 months left on their contract. Either way there is nothing from anyone reputable even linking us with Sturridge - only things are on "which free agent should Leicester sign" type of articles. No one is actually linked with Sturridge from the looks of it - might just sign an extension at Liverpool as he does seem willing to stay as a 3rd choice striker.
Not good enough for us though? https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...rpool-transfer-rumours-rated-alberto-16027220
Brendan Rodgers has implyed he will try and get Christian Fuchs to change his mind and sign a new deal
I'm not sure I'm totally in favour of that idea. Don't get me wrong, I love Fuchs for his contribution to date but surely we should be looking for a longer term LB solution to compete/support or eventually, if necessary replace Chilly.
