lol no Iv just had some bad, and lonely games, in goal. Some great games too mind! thanks, been reading for a while, decided to post!
Nor me, yet. Been hanging around there lately trying to work out who, apart from K.Billy and LeG, is actually ITK, and who is pretending!
Celtic linked with Hoedt. Only a matter of time on that one. I’m sure there’s plenty of action happening and it’s just waiting until closer to the deadline while various parties haggle over details. Seems inevitable that he’ll be sold or we’ll find an agreement on releasing him. And our long, national nightmare will be over.
Couldn't sign on to Saintsweb for years, then could....briefly...before being cut off again. And I hadn't said anything at that point. They apparently don't like my e-mail address. You do have to wonder what their criteria for membership are...when a harmless sweetie like me can't be tolerated.
Nice article on Carrillo this morning. Nothing much in news but more looking at how controversial his signing was internally. That January it was well known that we needed a forward. The club had been tracking Jimenez for years and he was the recruitment department’s first choice but it was looking impossible due to his agent being employed by Wolves. The next in line was Quincy Promes. He wasn’t willing to come so Walcott was considered(!), before Pellegrino requested Carrillo. He scored in the five games the club watched before bidding but the scouting department were so adamant that it was a mistake that at least one person threatened to resign if he was signed!
Just read it. Quite a balanced view - not his fault he was wanted, and who wouldn’t take a crack at it, but time for him to move on I think.
Yeah. Hard to dislike someone who was essentially promoted into a position he was unqualified for. None of the coaches had a bad thing to say about him. It’s Reed/MP who have to hold their hands up on that one.
Tbf who wouldn't take the opportunity to go and earn more money for a club in the PL.. just a shame there wasn't more conviction behind the scenes not to..
The key thing for me is that the chances of us signing Walcott, Promes or Jimenez were slim to none (but if they’re only motivated by wages do we care?). Carrillo was a terrible signing and only Pelligrino to blame. But as others have said, the player was a nice enough guy and should not be held responsible. I’m pretty sure he’s simply not good enough but just out of interest, did Ralph ever get a proper look at him?
this one? I’d anyone else wants a read: https://theathletic.co.uk/2007676/2020/08/21/guido-carrillo-resignation-jimenez-southampton/
