I'd buy a subscription for that tbh. Sure we'll hear the full story one day and it'll be even worse than we realise.
Rumours on twitter are that we are very close to a deal with Adam Armstrong. I appreciate its another player from the Championship but to sell a player for £30m who scored 12 in 29 for a player for half of that who scored 28 in 40 is a pretty good move.
I still want to know the story. "Bunch of chancers come up with £7.5m, and blow it all on a high-profile sponsorship deal with no idea how they'd translate that to an actual business" is still a great read. Stories of corporate dipshittery are rollicking good fun. If you don't believe me, I invite you to read the epic tale of Juicero, the expensive, overengineered juicing machine that received $120m in venture capital and was only slightly less effective than using your own hands: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/feat...alley-s-400-juicer-may-be-feeling-the-squeeze https://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2017/04/juicero-lessons/523896/
Some random Chinese company no one has heard of suddenly pops up with a record sponsorship amount for us despite having next to no online presence? Sure it's nothing to do with the Chinese owner of the club with a history of corruption.

If true then it would be our most expensive signing ever. Funnily enough, it would surpass Ings as our most expensive signing.
Never watched him, but I trust Ralph’s judgement. His record in the championship is great. Hope he hits the ground running
Funny how some people are complaining about signing Armstrong but when earlier stories linked him to palace their fans were really excited and I even saw a reply on Twitter where an Everton fan was lamenting in response saying “only Everton don’t sign good players” If that rumoured fee is true then is does seem to be overpaying though
Can beggars really be choosers? I was expecting we would chuck that plus Obafemi at them which still comes in at 20+
So I guess we are furthest along in negotiations with the player but are now being forced to enter a bidding war by a couple of other clubs
For what it's worth, several of us weren't terribly enthused when Armstrong was mooted as a target for half that price.
