Tonight's a Danish night, so here's some pundit thoughts on Delaney and whether he'd be a good fit for us. https://www.givemesport.com/1695482...-want-experienced-bundesliga-star-the-verdict
Sounds accurate. With him and Perraud I think we can get back to top 10 comfortably. Please, Saints, get this done.
This is old news, Sadly it hasn't resurfaced since that article came out i don't think. Wouldn't get to excited.
Probably just waiting for after the Euros. Will be shocked if Saints sign someone of this calibre, so hardly holding my breath.
ITK aficionado and top pundit Noel Whelan says JWP to Villa is definitely happening, this after there were reports yesterday that he would be interested in the move
As I said when the news first broke, if Villa have submitted a bid there probably is some interest from JWP otherwise they wouldn't bother. Whether that interest is enough for him to really force a move or whether Villa would pay what we would want for him is another matter.
I just can't see Saints willing to entertain offers below 50mill and I can't see Villa paying that much.
It also doesn't make much sense for JWP imo. Villa have been back in the PL two seasons, they were fortunate to stay up the first and they've had ONE good season last season. Things change quickly in football. It takes more than one good season to establish yourself as a top half team. Sure we aren't a top half team at the moment, but I just think if JWP has any thoughts of leaving he'd be looking for a more established top half/regular european club.
They do have very wealthy owners who seem happy to spend, whether they are pre empting Grealish leaving and are spending the money now or if it is additional investment from the owners to push the team forward is something that we will have to wait and see. There is no doubt they are a bigger club in terms of fan base and history etc. Whether that comes into it for JWP I don't know
If JWP is sold to Villa then they will find the average attendance at St Mary’s stays remarkably similar next season.. I think it would be the straw that breaks the camels back for a lot of supporters. Imagine if both Ings and Prowse are sold this summer….
