Interesting news that Michael Dunford has stepped down from being Vice-Chairman of Plymouth Argyle and also leaving the board with immediate effect.

One more link to James Brent has been severed.....Simon Hallett is making this board his own....will someone else be taking over those rolls from Dunford ?

Been looking at PAFC's roll of greatest managers....No10...Peter Reid.....No19...Carl Fletcher...No23...John Sheridan.....where do they get these figures from to decide that Carl Fletcher should even be on the list of greatest manager to start with.

Also their other lists of player rankings....some of the rankings defy logic personally.

Whispers and rumours going around.....(are you listening Lyndy)....interest is still being shown in Niall Ennis...striker from Wolves....who are in the process of bringing in a new striker from Italy....which then would release Ennis for a loan.......also interest still shown in striker Zac Rudden from Rangers.

Talk also that Fletcher might be on the way on loan to Torquay......we just need somewhere for Dyson to link up with now.

All 3 of those did a job in more than difficult times. Not sure you can have a list where you have the 23rd greatest manager. Surely there is only one and that's where the list stops. I wouldn't knock Reid, Fletcher or Sheridan though.

Bury v MK Dons opening match this Saturday has been postponed by the FL....Bury at present are unable to satisfy the FL regarding...'funding issues'... for the coming season.....so Bury are still on the brink of oblivion.....security depends on finance being available to satisfy the FL that Bury can go forward.

Just been looking at webcam 2.....the whole of the Mayflower terracing has been drenched with rain.....so what does the Grandstands 'extended' roof actually do.....we know that it would never extend far enough to cover the whole of the terrace seating.....maybe the prevailing wind blew the rain in under the roofing.....would that mean from a southerly direction ?

Ah northerly Plym, that stand faces north.

But you aren't wrong, the roof doesn't reach to the bottom-most rows of seats. The roof is bigger than the old one and Simon Hallett paid extra for a transparent "wall" on the western end of the grandstand to stop the prevailing westerly wind driving the rain into the stand proper (it's a westerly today) but I guess the old structure can only support so much roof.

Then again, you get wet in the first 10 rows or so of the horseshoe too if the wind's in the wrong direction.

Of course...Grandstand on the south side...so facing north....I remember now the difficulty in the Lyndhurst with the sun reasonable low in the sky in your face.

I think there is something like 12/14 feet of extra overhang.....of course a new cantilever stand would have had no problem going further.

Most seem to be tipping us to be there or thereabouts. I'm not sure it will be that easy with a new method of play, which others will try to nullify and with a brand new squad, which probably isn't as balanced front to back as it could be.

I hope a very positive atmosphere isn't ruined if we struggle in the first few games. Patience may be required.

Still, I'm optimistic and can't wait for the kick-off. I have tickets for Colchester!

Here is a familiar comment.....Dundee player...Jamie Ness is out injured after a 50-50 tackle in a friendly two weeks ago.....you wonder how he gets a contract....of course he might only get paid when he plays....if that's the case....he'll be down the food bank regularly.
