Fans are asking about 26yr old defender James Bolton signed from Portsmouth on the 24th July.

No mention of him since....and he hasn't turned out in Argyles two friendlies......any news anyone ?

It seems that Bolton has picked up an ankle injury and might not be fit for the start of the season.

Good point. Doesn't appear in the pre-season training picture gallery as far as I can see, although that doesn't mean much. He's English and transferred from an English club so presumably the transfer is a simple one. Presumably a fitness issue then...

Who? or at least it seems that way. Been invited to watch the Bristol Rovers friendly online on Saturday by son who is trying the new thing out. Yours for £5 apparently. Will be interesting to see some of the newbies even if it isn't in anger exactly. Mind you it is Joey Barton involved so perhaps in anger might be a bit premature.

I won't forget I normally get a bottle of wine with the game as well so it's well worth remembering. He'll probably read this and won't bother this time.

I hope you've noticed hhe warning that as this is an away game, you won't get the benefit from the 4 camera set up at Home Park.

Still, most impressed by the website. The goals from the Saltash game are up now and we have live coverage of am away friendly at Brizzle Rovers. Big step up I think and more progress for the club.

Flexi tickets are on sale and it seems my concerns with the last iteration have been addressed. You now continue to have 48 hours start on the general public when it comes to booking seats and that right continues even after you've used all 6 tickets you've prepaid. Each Flexi ticket can book seats for other people. That's useful in a family group if one person can't use their allocation (e.g. they move away).

My only other idea would be that you could buy more than one Flexi ticket per season. A full season ticket is more than I can be sure of using up but 6 games isn't enough for me.

Ryan Lowe possibly picked his strongest available starting line up for the friendly against Saltash.

Cooper, Wilson, Scarr, Galloway, Edwards, Camara, Houghton, Mayor, Grant, Jephcott, Ennis.

Subs that came on during the match were.....Burton (keeper), Tomlinson, Law, Randell, Gillesphey, Hardie.......plus other younger players.

Those unavailable were.....George Cooper, James Bolton.

Lowe is talking to Galloway regarding a possible contract....at the moment physically he seems ok.....but even so even with Bolton available...we might need another defender.

Although Lowe doesn't seem to want to depend on loanees this season.....and hopefully not young ones....he might have some in mind when other clubs have sorted out their squads near the start of the season.

It will be interesting to see on Saturday (1pm) how serious both teams take this game.....will there be lots of subbing in the second half.....if there is it will be hard to tell the strength of his starting eleven.

I have it on very good authority notdistant that Ryan is an avid follower of yours. (Honest)

I read today that he isn't in a rush to sign anyone. No need he says. I'd bet money there are 10,000 Argyle fans out there who wouldn't agree with him. I would agree with him that the right person is more important than the when we sign. I also agree with him that we will probably be better playing our own kids than blooding somebody else's.

I suppose as he cleared out all last season's defenders it made sense to reuse 2 to 6.

Grant, Camara, Jephcott and George Cooper have retained their existing squad numbers - think that's right in all cases.
