Waghorn He's always played beneath us so I 'd say the correct decision was made on him. He's hardly been prolific. He averaged 1 in 5 at Leicester. 1 in 6 at Wigan. 1 in 2 at Rangers playing in laughable leagues. 1 in 3 at Ipswich and 1 in 4 at Derby. I can't think of any youth players that have we should regret letting go.
I've just checked and Waghorn has scored 85 goals his full career over 12 years. I'd suggest that is the same as him and that is bang average.
Just spoke to my mate who’s a poolie. Said he looked ok. better than the others but probably struggle at league 1. I’m just quoting a mate so dint shoot the messenger. That said I do think we often think our kids are great (Ryan Noble anyone) and deserve a chance when they’re probably not up to it I can’t say I’ve seen much of him so my opinion on him is completely null
https://www.shieldsgazette.com/spor...new-deal-league-one-and-two-rumours-1-9806432 In short - Morgan has "seemingly" ruled out a return. Can't say I'm disappointed in this at all - there were fans on twitter lauding him and I saw a player who could be useful once in 3 games & could beat a man but not find a pass almost every game! Had his moments but couldn't handle being kicked (disappeared after Ronan Curtis' assault in the cup final) and always ran out of steam at 55 minutes!
Yeah he had the odd moment of quality but too often he gave it away needlessly or spooned it over the bar from a decent position. He only had one good half of fitness in him too which is fair enough if he hadn't played regularly but it didn't help us much. He looked alright at the start and got gradually worse imo, not bothered about getting him again there will be better options.
Spot on, as usual, my gripe is that we are seemingly chasing Luke, while chasing after Morgan, its all down to opinion and in mine, atm their is not much to choose between. I trust my own judgement, but for some it seems the grass is always greener, time will tell. I'm still upset about Van Dijk. .
Not sure of anyone on here or who watches regularly who is - twitter has loads of people saying he was a good player - I would say he was OK when he arrived and, as Nacho says, just got gradually worse!!
Brighton and Hove Albion are close to sealing a £6million deal for Portsmouth defender Matt Clarke after agreeing a fee. (TEAMTalk) Sunderland and Oxford United target Jason Pearce is keen on a return to boyhood club Portsmouth, though there is currently no deal in place. (Portsmouth News)
Twitter has quite a few saying "why aren't we doing business - is this takeover making us miss out on targets" I'm of the opinion that we'll get things done - very few players are moving now as most are on their holidays - not seen any done deals for those around us in our division so not sure what the pissy moaners (follow up to peaky blinders?) are on about
I know that at non-league level it's a little bit of a game of who blinks first. If you move too early you end up paying over the odds in terms of wages. You have to wait for the market to calm down a little. I assume that it works in a similar way in the league.
