Well the longer they are together the better. As soon as the window shuts they will be looking to January and then beyond.

Buying and loaning young promising players, WTF is going on? What happened to paying plodders a lot more than they were worth, and tossers from Wigan who should never wear the shirt again?

It's exciting to see the long term plans and the short term both kicking in at the same time, we're not usually lucky enough to have either one. Even the good times with Allardyce were built on very shaky ground compared to what we have now.

The managers who gave us short bursts of excitement were doomed to failure.

I loved those days with Keane, Allardyce, Advocat, Reid ...

... but we all knew it was seat of your pants stuff and it would all fall apart.

This feels shockingly different as if we've all had a massive slap round the face and come out of a coma <laugh>

My other half has left me with the mutts to go to a festival this weekend, so housebound, will meet at some game in the future, I think I have very good Cheltenham tickets for the away game

Feels odd beginning fourth season in 3rd division with more optimism than when we were in the PL :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Ok , stop now. When did I step into this alternative universe where every signing isn’t a run of the mill journeyman?

When we appointed a data specialist from the Deloitte group and paid some money to a very special external group.

dinna forget lads, as well as these very good young lads, there were also a couple of very shrewd deals with some 'older' lads brought in as well, i think so far we have a very good mix.

always said it was a waste to keep buying to plug gaps and a good foundation needed putting down, i feel like we have that foundation now and it is getting put into place...trying not to get ahead of myself here as there is a long season ahead of us yet but i am happy with the progress being made, after a couple of minor 'nervy' moments i own up to.
