Like I say in the post above - if it’s a tweet initiated by him with specifics in it, it’s usually on the money (even if it’s second hand). It’s the ones where he replies to people that can be ignored in general
I'd have an 'old head' striker in there, one who can cause a bit havoc in the box but knows where the net is. Martyn Waghorn or Billy Sharp type of strong, no nonsense type of player. just my opinion.
Dane Scarlett on loan from Spurs would be my dream signing if I could chose anyone realistic for the number 9. he’s on the bench today but once Kane has gone you imagine Spurs will bring 2 strikers in
Just heard we're getting some forward from Everton on loan. No idea who. Came from a coach at the academy
Looking at Everton's squad, could be this guy if we're going along the same road as Cirkin and Doyle https://www.evertonfc.com/players/19925/ellis-simms
I don't think I said gullible, just biased... But I think what you've said is the point I was trying to make, really. I haven't seen every defence in this league play (neither has anyone on this forum, I'd wager), so I don't think it's possible for me to say which is the best in the league after a total of 3 hours of football have been played... (or 90 minutes at time of the original post)
I've got no idea who it is but he definitely said a lad from Everton. I didn't realise Simms was still there but if its him it'll be class
Embleton will hopefully be in his ear. I think he would be a really good fit. Looks like a lad can link play and play as a central striker. I would be happy to see him here.
I am choosing to believe it is him mate, only because it puts a smile on my face on a Sunday night. Plus there has been nothing in the media so it must be true. Thanks for sharing what you were told as well.
I kinda think if you say "that's a stupid thing to say", the implication is that the person who said it is stupid, but that's by the by, ha. Fair point on Doyle, I hadn't really thought about (or seen) any of the pre-season matches so some on here are no doubt more qualified to comment on him . I think the point with Cirkin is that if they really wanted him, they could have offered him £100k per week. I'm sure they wanted to keep him on to see how he developed, but that probably goes for most of their youth players, it's not like he was pencilled in as a first-team player this season otherwise he'd still be there... I agree Alves is a potentially exciting signing (so are Cirkin and Doyle, for what it's worth) but his experience is mainly in Danish League 2 which is probably a level below League One. But it all comes back to the fact none of us have really seen much of them play, and certainly haven't seen much of all the other defences in the league, so I just find it a bit funny to claim they'll be the best defensive unit in the league, bar none, at this stage. It's impossible to say right now, imo. Anyways, it was a good debate but my first comment was just meant to be a throwaway observation so I don't want it to turn into a long drawn-out thing haha. For the record, I hope you're right
No bother mate, fingers crossed it is him! Tbh I've just heard it from me mate who was out with the coaches on Friday and he said he was ****ing mortal so couldn't remember the players name haha
I think we were linked with a young lad from Everton early in the window, they were in USA then he got injured?
