I'm sorry but all I can see is 3 free incoming players..from Luton..pompey and Exeter...unproven loan players at champ level..I don't see how this has improved us enough for the championship..but I don't think we are worse either.

 

Replacing loans with permanents is hardly like for like. We all know there'll be more in and the time to assess the window is at the end of it.

Theres only 1 out you could say was a regular, whereas the ones coming in are envisaged to be adding depth to the first team, so in effect were better off than we were, not worse as those with an axe to grind appear to suggest.

 

Bloody hell, there's been some activity on here. Save me looking back at the last half dozen pages, who have we signed?

Just someone to come in and share the goals burden with Magennis. We have great attacking options either side of Magennis. Just no one else to help. Unless Eaves comes good.

 

With forward positions being the most expensive position to fill, i suspect any central striker will be a loan.



Another holding midfielder and an experienced right sided centre-half would be a priority for me also.

 

Do I need to go to Hymers Heli Pad ?

Why is everyone so obsessive about signings improving us? Our squad is young enough there is plenty of natural improvement left in the bulk of the squad to carry us into this division. KLP didn't do too bad last time when he played cameos off the bench in the Championship, and now has a full season and confidence under his belt, ditto Wilks.

Docherty would have been an improvement to our squad had we not been relegated, let alone bringing him in in L1, ditto Emmanuel/Coyle. This fixation on improving the squad with new personnel is such a naff FIFA fad.

Okay we had a great season last year .. Magennis was outstanding in the latter half and as such should certainly be given a shot but his previous form up against better defenders in the Championship didn't fair to well. KLP again a terrific season, and if he follows in Bowens footsteps as he seems to be doing will go better then a lot of us expect. Wilks .. well .. what can ya say .. the lad is a talent but also.a frustration. Forget Eaves .. not good enough in league 1 let alone Championship. So for.me that leaves us requiring a good centre forward at this level. Reading about the embargo and seeing the climate I cant see us getting one, so I suspect we may be light of goals this season. None of our midfield are what you would call prolific goal scorers, so let's hope our defence are on form, or we could be in for a rude awakening on our return.
