No sympathy for Barça or that other prick who owns Madrid. Both in debt up to their bollocks and it’s their own fault. No wonder they wanted the Super League.

I did just google the amount, 150 thousand in 1961. All gone by 1968.

 

Fan owned though. The way forward according to some.

 

I worked in Leeds with someone in 1967 who knew her husband. They said the win, a world record amount at the time, couldn't have gone to a worse couple. They could have set themselves up for life with a decent house and money left over.

 

Like Norwich, though only 2 fan's. Perhaps that's why they do well in terms of attendances, owners who are fans...

 

How many owners are actual fans of the clubs they own? I'd love owners who are fans but is that just a bygone dream in the current climate?

And wouldn't fan owners just lead to more overspending? If i owned city I'd have to get someone in to manage the budget or i'd be potless in about 3 transfer windows.

 

2 fan's what? I worked with a Norwich fan. Used to take the piss out of their attendances which were about 18,000 in the top flight and told him how we would be full for every single game if we were in the top flight. When Delia Smith got control he said things would change. Never asked him why that would be, presumed there were issues with the previous ones running things.Since she took over they have sold out all their season tickets for 15 seasons whichever division they were in. We haven't, as he reminds me whenever I bump into him.

 

I seem to remember a pools winner from Cottingham, 444,000 rings a bell. Used to drink in Black Prince the story was at that time ( 1970's ) the 44,000 would pay the house, car and holiday bank the rest and live on the interest. Think he was a welder who had or bought a pick-up and mobile welding unit.

Re. these European 'super' clubs all being in ****e street debt wise.
What's the situation with Man City? Are they in debt or does their owner just fund them without it ending up as a debt?
IMO, it's likely only a matter of time until they dominate.

 

Derby are trying to sign 8 players by noon tomorrow, Curtis Davies and Sone Aluko among them. They have 9 fit senior players.

I hope they get ****ing mullered.
