Pick the bones out of that one. The ITV team were trying to big up what a Classic renewal of the Arc and a rank outsider has gone out there and won it. I thought Adayar got a rather ambitious ride out in front and it was always going to be a tough ask. Hurricane Lane was always being niggled but he started coming through, however it wasn't to be. Tarnawa ran a cracker but poor old Dermot was done in by an 80/1 shot.

I think we saw that Snowfall has been beating up very modest opposition all season.

Ryan Moore was quoted as saying that the form was there with the German winner but I think it is hard to say that any horse who was beaten by Alpinista, was likely to go and land an Arc.

Well done to those who punted on the winner, it was a real fairy tale result that just shows anything can happen sometimes.

(Seems like poor old Deep Bond broke down. Hope he's OK. Stopped like he'd been shot!)

Right that guarantees the nil-nil then - I put the bet on yesterday just so I would not forget like I did their last free bet. <laugh>

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - if only we'd paid more attention to going for the races the winner had won on - good to soft x 3, good and a 2nd on heavy<doh>

I should give this betting lark up. Watched my bet of the day on Bet365.

Dettori chined on the line in the Opera by Rougir.

The favourite, Audarya, looked to be going really well with the jockey looking round but soon as it hit the front it stopped.

Glad I left the Foret alone as Space Blues won it.

The two biggest factors in any race: distance and going.

The problem was that whilst it had form on the going it had no form against this level of competition - hence it was an outsider.

According to the PMU website, the winner paid 72.50, so it was not the biggest upset ever - German punters would have been better off with British bookies.

all well and good, but its not as good as getting the value on a loser.
