Nice one PNP. In some ways you didn't deserve the win, as you sat back and we scored during a rare period of sustained pressure. There again, on the balance of play, you should never have lost either! That's football of course and we're not complaining
I thought Buckley did OK when he came on, Alvarez didn't off that much either, but let that not be a judgment until 5 to 6 games further in.
i like being able to bring Will and Giac on, Very good subs to bring on. If he had put that chance away at the end i'd be singing his praises!
Not a comfortable afternoon that, but we'll take the point, deserved or otherwise, and hopefully get a win on the board next week. Lads were resilient, I have to say I think Gomez needs a start, he is an ideas player and we look better whenever he is on the park, IMO. What did PVA get booked for near the end, looked to us like he'd turned his man and gone clear, whistle goes and he gets a yellow? Que?
That was the most immature reaction from a ref i've ever seen after the crowd got on his back - pathetic Canny result against a top quality side
Ref was weak as kittens piss both ways, throughout. Danny Rose, by the way, diving, whinging little ****.
After he was called a ****er and not fit ti refferee, he must have given 6 freekicks and 4/5 yellows the ****ing girl He was like "i'll show you's"
To give you credit, the team and the fans kept fighting to earn their point. From our POV, first of all Iâm so pleased we look like an attractive side again. Second I think the style Pochettino plays will see a lot of late points dropped, as it did for Southampton last year. The players just get tired. Hard to say where fatigue ends and lack of a winning mentality begins in this case though. A mentally strong team could have won this, well, 4-1. Just to try to convince you Iâm not blinded by my Spurs-tinted glasses: Rose dived at least once and probably twice, and it wasnât a handball. On the other hand, Ade should have won two different pens. Itâs getting ridiculous, because he should have won one against Liverpool as well, and the refs donât even think about it because he stays on his feet. So thatâs PL officiating for you: cheating is necessary if you want to win. They wonât give a pen without it, as a general rule. Anyway, good luck this year. Iâve enjoyed talking to some of you, and continue to be impressed with how you back your team.
Have to say the one when he hit Mannone looked like he was being dragged all over to me, will see on MOTD. If that was a pen was also a red, we'd have been ****ed.
PL officials’ flow chart for whether to award a pen: Has the attacking player dived? If no: don’t award the pen. (You can’t win a pen without diving, that’s our main rule!) If yes: Has there been a foul? If yes: Is it Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U or Liverpool? If yes: Award the pen. If no: Whatever suits the home fans is good. Has there been no foul, just a dive? Does Chelsea, Arsenal, Man U or Liverpool really need the pen? If yes, give it to them. If no: Whatever suits you. Have some fun with it!
We need a ****ing win on the board mate, plain & simple. Gomez has to get a start for me, every time he's on the park he's looking for passes, he's trying things, I think we need to accommodate the lad and forget the fact he was a free from Wigan. Buckley looked sharp again, needed a bit longer, there are definite positive signs, but we need a 3 pointer. I'll hold my tongue on Wickham, as Spurs had all of the ball his involvement was 'restricted'.
The player who impressed me most for you was Johnson, I should mention. While it was bad defending from us, the way he worked the ball through three defenders and a keeper was brilliant.
Really? How could he be offside he rolled his man, you can't possibly be offside rolling a man. No wonder he was livid, makes sense.
First time he's done owt all season, but I agree he looked half decent a few times. He has the ability, he's just constantly hungover.
No you're not... I said earlier Gomez in, Rodwell out for Burnley. He Links well with PVA, maybe helped by being a lefty I don't know but he seems able to slot that ball through for the overlap. Win at Burnley would constitute a VERY good start IMO. The two home fixtures have been tough so the points we'd have after those two plus three away games would be excellent.
