Love sunday league footy joe - was my lifeblood when I got past 18 for a few years - right back for a couple of my local pubs and clubs (Used to play every Saturday morning and every Sunday for 2 different local sides) Definitely interested in this - keep us all updated
Cheers fellas. I haven't got a YouTube account, sounds too much hard work ha. But just thought I'd do this as it's a bit different.
For ****s sake. We were playing Myers today, really good game and they were a good passing team. 0-0 at half time and we had a few half chances as did they. Come out second half and after 5 mins we won a pen, same scorer as last week and was put away. 1-0 up, passing us out the game but not hurting us and then our defender had the ball on the line about 8 foot away from the keeper shouting at the keeper to come and not clearing it, they chipped it in and out lad handballs it on the line (red card). 5 mins later they scored a pen, our keeper got his hand to a through ball, ref never saw it and forward went over. Then a straight long ball over top, keeper came and got chipped. We then battered them for the last 20 despite being down to 10, I was about online with the pen spot and there was a defender on the 6 yard line, ref blew for off side, I was a good 4-5 yards onside, ref was pathetic today. Gutted to be beaten as didn't deserve it
That's football mate. Own 80% of the ball and lose 2-0. Keep the match reports coming though Joe, it draws us ex-pats back home and that works for us in so many ways you wouldn't imagine.
Home today and pleased with the day. Played Stanley Rafa and won 2-1 in the county cup, we dominated the game and took a 1-0 lead at half time after a fine header from a corner. 2nd half ball from kick was played back to our centre half, long diagonal ball forward, flick on from one of the lads and our winger there to volley it in, there goal was well against the run of play and one of our players was fouled in the build up, young referee today only 17 and seemed and bit wary but overall he done ok. Back to the pub, pizzas puddings the works as Stanley also come back (general county cup tradition) few beers good craic. Shame I had to come home to kids
