Interesting that many people desperately wanted Burge out and Jones in for O'Brien ..

... neither worked out which perhaps shows how much we know.

It just feels like we’ve got the tides with us, Saturday we were god awful but dig it out with 2 ridiculous goals. Pretty poor tonight but still a lot of shots and a win.

We are winning games we were drawing before Johnson came in, and you fancy us to win them.

None of us accepted we were beaten on Saturday, the whole mood around the club is different.

We can do it this year and then get motoring with the new owners in the summer. From where we were under Parky it’s almost like a gift.

4 wins from 5 at home (inc the cup game) is a really massive turnaround.

Gooch has a calf injury and mcglauhlin needed an injection in the same place he had the hernia. Looks like the defence will have to be the same on Saturday but Maguire in for Gooch.

    Given:
    The defensive injuries
    Players being knackered
    We haven't been playing well
    Swindons' form
    Other results
    Crazy travel in previous week's

I'll take that all day long

Personally I never said he was a crap keeper, his shot stopping was always fine, but that he was indecisive and lacking confidence and I stand by that fully because he absolutely was, it was plain to see. Credit to him and Johnson for turning it around.

Might be nice if the people who were right about him could let it go and stop gloating, we all want the best for Sunderland after all.

Our injury list would've crippled some clubs.

Is anyone gloating, I'm not ...

... just putting a point of view.

If he'd continued, in your opinion, to be indecisive and lacking confidence wouldn't you have mentioned it ever again?

This is all I said, no big deal on a chat forum surely ...

It's hilarious that he's strolled in, said a few things and has them on course for the PL <laugh>

I honestly dont take an interest in other clubs troubles but have any had as bad a run of injuries as we have?
Thankfully we've the best squad imo.

Burge is in good nick at the minute and cant see why we would change him now, particularly after what happened to Matthews.

I though Jones deserved a start and that O'Brien was one of those that looked flat on Saturday. Tonight I thought Jones was good on the ball, he is technically very good and sees things. The front 4 didnt click much, they were almost top fluid at times if that doesnt sound too daft. O'Brien came on gave their defenders another physical presence to deal with and as always had an impact. There will be games where we mix it up at the top of the pitch and we are in a good position to do that with the players we have.

There's a good few go on RTG, usually when it's close to the fixture, put the whole of RTG on ignore and wind up the Pompey, that's the spirit.

I think he broke a bone in his foot but Johnson was saying that he has a different injury now because he was running differently and over compensating. Now his foot is fixed and he can run normally he has a muscle injury.
