Unless it was the only way to allow him access to watch the match, I don’t know why they had Johnson in charge. No training, no time to know the players. If he was in the directors box surely that would’ve done it? I would’ve felt much better about things if he’d taken charge after the game having watched it.

was happy with his post match mind. Said everything Parkinson never dared to!! And everything we’ve all known since Maja left

It's one thing admitting your problems, it's another thing fixing them.

Aye, we have very little pace and power in the middle of the park, but with the salary cap and the ridiculousness that is the Jan window, is it realistic we can recruit well enough to get us up?

Didn;t you call yourself a happy clapper?? :1980_boogie_down::1980_boogie_down:

I'm hopeful that he sees what we need and we can get it in. Not sure how the finances sit with the salary cap etc. We can see what has been required all season. Hopefully Johnson can get what he needs out of what we have at the club. Benji might make a big difference although I'm yet to see him play well outside of the 23s! We are putting a lot of eggs in the U23 basket (most of us fans are that's for sure). Time will tell I guess

That's what I'm often called over the road because I tend not to melt down at a couple of defeats or a underwhelming managerial appointment. Apparently I am "accepting mediocrity" which is a (favourite SMB word) "disgrace" etc

Time will definitely tell and as each day passes, the annoyance of Saturday fades and I start to look forward to the next game. It'd nice to win a game of football soon though, feels like it's been a while

Well Sam, you might of gone in the stands to asses things but then your not our manager.
I'm sure Johnson will watch the match over again to get an assessment and fair do's to him having the bóllocks to take the bull by the horns.

Let's hope he does a good job, and doesn't up and fook off leaving us in the lurch eh ? ;)

Parky was doing a good job says it all ffs

I put the game to one side on Saturday due to other issues.
Disappointed with the result obviously, but catching up I'm impressed so far with Johnson.
Can't fault him on the result but he looks up for it and he's got bóllocks.

Just the attitude we need imo.

Gary Parkinson he said as well, he's clearly been following us closely.

Being in the dugout didn't seem to stop Johnson from clearly identifying all the problems we have in the team, probably had it sussed after an hour watching us. Seems sharp.

Aye fat Sam has a dig at our new manager then bigs up our last one and doesn't know his fookin name ffs .

I'm sure Johnson will assess the match plenty watching it back.

That team and formation should of buried Wigan, one shot and they score ffs.
    Sam can fook off,
Oh he did, without a word or a look over his shoulder.

Absolutely agree 100% - just hope he knows who needs that bollocking and who needs the "arm around the shoulder"

I know nothing about him all in all and I like what I have seen so far but, as with everything Sunderland, I always have a seed of doubt regardless of how rosy my specs are!! almost 40 years following the lads does that to you!!

Well he certainly looks set to be bold and go for attacking football.
Also seems willing to make changes.
I backed parky till the death but god it had gone stale.

Hopefully Johnson instills the right mindset,
we need to be brave and hopefully gain confidence.
Even if it doesn't work out at least he will hopefully of had a go and got at teams.

    Oh well, here's hoping :emoticon-0148-yes:

It'll be interesting to see what team he puts out for the next league game, especially after the cup game tomorrow where presumably he'll get a look at more fringe players. If Curry etc play and do well is he going to ignore them in favour of the bunch of crap we saw on Saturday? I doubt it.
