They also got knocked out of the cup on Wednesday evening, losing 2-0 to Sheffield Wednesday. All on par with us. Ross Stewart is their main threat, having scored 27 for them in 58 since joining from Ross County in 2021. Team News QPR: Luke Amos, Jake Clarke-Salter, Kenneth Paal, Taylor Richards, George Thomas and Chris Willock are all missing through injury. Sunderland: Leon Dajaku could return after missing out in midweek with a minor strain. Pre-match Talk Mick Beale (QPR head coach): “In this league, you have to fight tooth and nail for every point. “What an atmosphere to go and play in this weekend. We will relish that and use it as motivation to go and get the result that we think we are capable of.” Alex Neil (Sunderland head coach): “QPR are really dangerous with some really good forward players. “It'll be a good test for us.” Enjoy those who are going and as always... ...COME ON YOU SUPER HOOPSA!!!
Colleen you were my Sunderland girl, 16 stone and 4 foot 6…. Gotta luv Bob, but he has it in for the Mackems…. Cheers Dave. I’m sure someone will roll out the 73 FA Cup/final league game story.
Sorry Mackems, I have a huge soft spot for the North East, but I love Bob Mortimer as well (does Boro count as the North East?). My Mackem mates are harder than anyone else on the reality of Sunderland.
It is rather bizarre we haven’t heard anything about the extent of these other injuries. Maybe the pre-match press conference will let us all know more!?!?
Some very interesting songs. Much more interesting than trying to guess who will be fit to make the starting eleven!
There's an article on WLS saying none of Willock, Salter, Amos, Paal or Richards are currently expected to play at Sunderland. Salter and Amos both have had scans which they didnt like the recovery date on so they are getting 2nd opinions! Beale does not expect Salter back before early September. Willock to be assessed in the next 24 hours. Thomas got an ankle injury at Charlton and played the full 90 with it apparently, a scan showed nothing was broken but he's in the treatment room with the others.
