    Competition - Sky Bet Championship
    Venue - Swansea.com Stadium
    Date - 27 February 2023
    Kick off - 8:00pm

Following their 1-3 defeat at home to Stoke City, next up for Russell Martin’s out of form Swansea squad is a home fixture against Rotherham.

Last Tuesday, Josh Laurent scored twice as Stoke City shook off an an early goal to ease their relegation fears at Swansea City.

The captain opened his league account with two goals in four minutes to clinch a first away win since December.

Lewis Baker grabbed a third in injury-time to lift Alex Neil's side nine points clear of the drop.

Morgan Whitaker marked his Swansea return with a second-minute goal but it was not enough to prevent a second loss in four days.

It was an undisciplined display from the Swans both with and without the ball that has all-but shattered any slim play-off chance with just one win in six, indeed if their current form were to continue, a relegation battle would appear more likely.

On the same evening, struggling Rotherham earned a precious win as they ended Sunderland's eight-match unbeaten away run.

The Millers went ahead when Ollie Rathbone ran unchecked towards the 18-yard box and sent a low left-footed drive across goalkeeper Anthony Patterson into the corner.

Shane Ferguson doubled the lead after the break, steaming forward to receive Tariqe Fosu's sweeping pass and plant a low finish in off the post.

Joe Gelhardt met Luke O'Nien's inch-perfect cross to head in from close range and halve the deficit, but Matt Taylor's side held on and almost scored a late third when Conor Washington steered a shot against the post.

The result leaves Rotherham 6 points below the Swans and 5 points above the drop zone.

The Swans have played Rotherham on 81 previous occasions, winning 30, losing 25 and drawing 26 matches.

The teams last played each other in Swansea in the Championship in November 2020 when the Swans ran out 1-0 winners:

Turning to Monday evening, the Swans are desperate for a win to ease concerns about being dragged into a relegation fight, whilst the Millers will fancy their chances to move further away from the relegation zone against a Swansea side short in confidence.

I think that Rotherham will run out 0-2 winners.

    I hope I’m wrong <cheers>

Seems like confidence is low amongst the Planet Swans contributors:

I have zero confidence in us at the moment. Any team that consistently gives away easy goals is always going to struggle.

If we are 3 goals up going into injury time then maybe we can scrape a win.

The Millers will be up for this one and probably more so than us.
It will probably be a case of we score first and then begin to make all sorts of incredibly stupid mistakes and they get an equaliser in the 80th minute and we just about hang on for a point.

Well RM is starting to sound deluded. and if the team could be as defensive as he is in the media we'd have no problem <laugh>

Hard to muster any confidence but I'll say 1 - 1.

Great assist from Manning for that goal by Piroe, just hope we don't sit back on the 1 goal lead, otherwise it will be our usual curtains!.....<laugh>
